Somewhat off topic.
But for those who attended the Norwegian Meeting last year http://www.8er.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11455&page=26 .
Remember the Airmuseum ? just outside the museum in the sea they a few years ago found a Heinkel 115 http://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heinkel_He_115
That they now got resources to take out and preserve, it came out of the sea a few days ago about 70 years after it went down.
This airplane had two BMW-132 9 cylinder engines , one was still attached and has been removed for preservation. http://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_132
Was down there today and took a few pix.

I love this sort of thing.... Am glued to Discovery channel any time this sort of thing comes on....
Watched the Bluebird (Donald Campbell) one. The retrieval of the one's beneath the Arctic. And so on....
Really looking forward to the one about the 24 Spitfires in Burma If they let us have them!!
Thanks.

Well it will never fly again , but they have restored a few others so they at least can be seen close to what they ones was.
For the missing engine it turns out that they actually have another engine like that already so plan is to mount that on.
The chassis of the plane will now be dismanteled and put in a fresh wather tank for quite some time to extract all of the salt.
In a few years it will probably look quite OK , and according to themself this is the only one of this type in the world left.

Terje
