I have new Continental tires that came with the 850i I recently purchased. The tire size is 235R/50 x 16 95W CZ90, Sportgrip, and I cannot find that tire size in the "mags" under Continental tires. My questions is what the recommended tire pressure would be for both the front and rear tires. The owner's manual states that for normal loads, the rear tires should have 32 lbs. of pressure and the front tires should have 30 lbs. of pressure, but it also states that other tires may requires higher pressures. When checked, the rear tires were at 40 lbs. and the front tires were at 35 lbs., which were the pressures put in at the dealer.

The autocross crowd can bore your to tears with tire pressure theory, but I like to run about 40 all around. Dissenting opinions welcome, but only if supported by a cogent rationale. PMB
If any of you out there know about this size of tire, its speed rating, and what pressures they should have in them, I would appreciate it.

The 235/50, fitted on a 16-inch wheel is the stock tire/wheel size. There aren't that many tires made in that size, and so the Contis are common. IMHO, a fair tire with below average wear characteristics. I had them on my 1991 850i and they wore out quickly. Replaced them with 245/50 Michelin XGT Z4 tire, which is a harder touring tire. So far, I've been quite satisfied.
Also, and as to the performance chips, what increase in horsepower do they claim is achieved, and what does this do to the gas mileage?
