Looking for a set of cheapish OEM wheels

  • The guy I'm buying my Alpina wheels from needs some OEM standard 8 series wheels for his car to sell it.

Does anyone have or know of a reasonable set alloys which are available - probably looking at 16 or 17" cheap please :)

    Thanks Ian.

  • :D:D:D:D:D:D

It's OK - I bought decent a set off eBay this morning.

Once I get my new Alpinas, I am selling my 17" BMW deep dished cross bolted alloys to a guy in Canada. These are quite rare in themselves (£2K option when new) and I didn't just want to part exchange them as that seems a bit of a waste.

So deals are all done an my new 18" orginal Alpina Classics will be on the car VERY soon.

I'll put new pictures up of the car as soon as I get them fitted.

 3.15 LSD going in on Wednesday (YUM YUM)

    Ian.

  • Before I get it fitted - here's what I think will be the most prominent effects:-

    1) I'll get through tyres like never before
    2) My wife will moan even more about being thrown back in the seat
    3) I'll smile a lot
    4) I'll get a minimum of 3 points speeding within 6 months....

Now let's see what happens next Thursday when I collect car from tuning specialist....

    Hmmm

  • When I did the 7% lower rear end (out of an older M5) on my last 850, the 0-60 mph times were identical at 6.82 sec. (Comforti, Supersprint exh, ASC off, brake torquing from the same rpm on the same stretch of road, 1/4 tank of gas etc...) However, as it was about 8 deg Farenheit warmer on the after runs, so it's possible that it really was faster. I think you would really want a reduction in gearing of 20% at least. This was on an automatic trans car. I am not planning the same modification on my current 850 unless a rear end is given to me, and installed for free.
