Rarer than Rare! Hen's Teeth

I am the proud owner of a 1999 840 Ci Sport in Imola Red (one of only three made in this colour - 2 sold in the UK & 1 sold in Australia) however mine has Lotus White leather interior with Imola Red inserts (the only one in this combination). I bought it in 2004 from a BMW main dealer. It's done 70K miles.

Just recently I noticed a small paint bubble on the corner of the roof and decided to have it attended to. When the body shop cut back the paint they discovered a significant amount of rust and holes through the roof! So it is having a new roof and sunroof fitted, hopefully completed in time to exhibit at Gaydon!

The car was bought with 18" Schnitzer Type 2 alloys, 8.5J front and 10J rears (now on ebay) but I decided to put it back to the originally manufactured "Throwing Stars" - I managed to find a set on Ebay and have had them refurbished by The Wheel Specialists in Birmingham.

It doesn't make sense to consider the cost efficiency of owning one of these cars - you either just LOVE them and will lavish whatever it takes to keep them pristine - or - you get a boring box and save your money. Life is just too short!
