Many thanks for the pics and info ukzero, that's helpful. I'm debating whether to go for your interior as Bavaria intended, or a darker grey/near black on the seat bolsters, to create more of a contrast with the surrounding plastic areas (unless that was a factory option too?).

Danke/thanks
Could anyone point me to some good pics of a silver grey two-tone interior?

Big thanks for all the kind words!

Are you sure about the two-tone interior? In my opinion one-tone with a contrast colored welt looks signifikant better.Do you mean contrasting piping around the edges?

Just out of interest, why did you need to remove the front screen but not the back? (sorry for trifling questions..)
Also, how / who inserted the louvres .. was there lots of fiddly work involved with that too?
There was some corrosion on the leading edge of the roof; the bodyshop guy said he was ok with the rear window in place -probably didn't fancy taking it out much.
The louvres were put in by the same guy - he said they were easy to place in the bonnet, but a *nightmare* to finish; they're pretty rough when they arrive from Engl, although his welding is good.

Thanks gents!
Zitat von BBMatic;103276Can I ask, did you strip the car right down for the respray?
Not stripped to the metal, but the bumpers, spoilers, sills and front screen came off.
Zitat von shiggsy;103279Hence the Ventureshield question. Are you going down that route?
I'm going to get the front bumper done, and the sills. Thought I might do that here and see if they can dye the interior into a two-tone, as well.

Inspired by others here, I opted for Rondell R58's with Gerry's spacers at the front and his Bilstein/Eibach lowering kit. The louvres are Engl's. Total repaint. Very happy.

I'm very happy with my Brodit clipped to the upper left vent.

Indeed - I have bought it so I hope it's healthy!

My steering box has play at the output shaft - I've found a 58k mile replacement (£100); does replacing it involve a lot of work, subframe out etc?
I'm also thinking I might have the replacement box reconditioned first. Has anyone done this?
-
Many thanks for the tips Shiggsy; I'll drop Nick a line. Did you have the whole bonnet done (in one piece)?
-
Ventureshield paint protection - they don't have a pattern for the 8 but perhaps someone here has had it done individually to theirs? Any thoughts/experience?

Soulsearching on the colour notwithstanding, if I was looking for one I'd be tempted at 7.5k. Don't think there's an AC spoiler on the front but the rear lower valance is an improvement over the original I'd say.

..shame they're not 18"...I'm looking for some if anyone's selling.

thanks gents

Once you dye the centre grey a darker shade, it'll look great.

Thanks - and is the 20" wheel always deeper dish as in the picture?
-
What's the deal with the wheels...did one Alpina come with 18" and the other 20", and is the 20" always deeper at the front than the 18"?

What if the green car provided the body and another donor car was used for the engine and ecu's etc?

Great pics Gerry - what do the extra switches under your handbrake and inside the ashtray do (I'm guessing the red one is for the ejector seat)?
