http://www.bmwblog.com/2010/07/02/exclusive-photos-bmw-m8/
Didn't see any threads up on this. This is definately a good thing that they are finally being public about this car. I do know about the BMWCar article. I own it. lol

Such a beautiful color!

Wow that's an awesome e31 for a wedding limo! I will definitely take my bride (someday) in my BMW. Hopefully it will be an 850 CSi or just my M3.

Any pics of the Steering wheel in place?

Awsome! Great choice in the RD 2 wheels! Best looking wheels for the e31.

She looks great! I wish they would have offered the sport package here in the states though.

Check out this '91 850iA Cabriolet custom made for Dallas Cowboy Eric Williams!

Welcome! Sorry I can't help you as I am from Chicago, but thought I would say hello anyway. Good luck.

I always that that wheel should fit! The thing that tipped me off was the 3 spoke steering wheel (with controls) which was used in the e36 and e46. The e36 M3 steering wheel you put on would then fit of course. That also means that the new style (e46, e39) M sport wheels should fit. I am currently looking into if an M3 CSL SMG wheel will fit with a Mr Paddleshift kit on a 96+ steptronic e31.

I still want to redesign the rear light clusters, but am waiting for a decent set to come on ebay, at a good price, before I start tinkering. Got this idea of having banks of high output LEDs set just behind the lense wall, and thus not needing the reflectors. May also mill out sections of the red plastic lense and replace with clear, for indicator and reverse sections. But to do this need a spare set so I can work on them out of the car, and if I bodge it then I still have my originals.
Great idea. Not to gloat, but I actually was thinking about doing that exact same process too! Another idea is to find that fully clear set of tail lights that I believe M Turbo found and posted in the Carbon Fiber Post. You wouldn't need to mill then. All you would have to do is mask the turn signal indicators and reverse lights and just airbrush the running and brake light sections with a few coats of Testors clear red paint. Then spray a few coats of gloss or matte coat to seal it. Then just insert you LED banks. I hope you can do it.

I've seen that CSi. It is very nice, especially the mileage! Big pricetag though. Too bad. Hopefully she will find a good home...

Maybe someone's lucky day. Could have been mine but too much money.

I would like everyone's opinion on this one. I found a 1991 850i Manual with 81k miles very close to where I live at a dealership. I am going to inspect it, but want to know if it is worth it. I would only drive it on the weekends, so mileage wouldn't be too bad. What do you think?

//M Turbo, Where did you find those pics?
As for the euro taillights, I actually was thinking if some company can make a set of newer style lenses for the 8, like the 2002+ 5 series, that would be a classy touch to enhance and make the 8 a modern accent.
Steve - the price for the hood would be about $1500 USD. Not sure on the shipping though.
Cheers,
John P.
If someone has the clear/red tail lights you may be able to cut out the running light back section and add in cannibalized Celis lights from an e39's. You would then have to figure out how to re-wire them to work with the e31. If you had the patience and time it could be done.

Not quite!!!
Oh holy hell!! Are these lights still available or in production? Who produced them? Have they (or anyone else) made tail lights with clear indicators, and reverse lights with red running and brake lights? I have been told by many that no one has ever done this. WOW!

Once I get an 8, with "lower" miles, I would only drive it on the weekends. However, I was wondering who out there drives their e31 almost every day? Please tell me the Year, Model, transmission, rough mileage, and about how many days per week driven. I have heard that they can be used in this manner, but I want to really get some first hand accounts. Thanks!

Once I get my 8er (Whenever that is) I would love to have replica M8 aero components (especially the rear fenders). I have also been thinking of contacting a few companies to see if they would custom make Euro clear turn signals all around. Think about it, I would be the only one in the world with clear signals!
