Have to say I'm very pleased that mine has the 3 spoke steering wheel!
Thanks for letting me know Jud.

The later 850CSi and Alpina B12's have the ideal 18" tyre size, 245/40/18 and 285/35/18. That size is closest to the stock size in rolling radius and it won't foul any arches or anything else with appropriate wheels (offset)

And here was me hoping it was a quick install kit for an S70/2 engine

Is it an STI with 206kw or a WRX with around 160kw?

I tend to agree with sedan's wasting space, wagons are typically the same length but have more room, therefore are better
I should say however that I am slightly biased! This is my other car

I've also always been a fan of long elegant hatches with sloping roof lines, I like the Panamera and the BMW GT does appeal to me a little bit, but it is way to tall. The 5 and 7 are about 100mm shorter and the E31 is 100mm shorter again! If the BMW GT was around 1350-1400mm tall, rather than 1560mm it would be a much better proportioned car. As alluded to above though, the safety laws just cause all sorts of problems now when trying to design a good looking car. I'd also have preferred BMW to make the original CS Concept rather than the GT. -
14:1 is extremely lean that high up in the rev range, especially with relatively high compression ratio pistons. I wouldn't be taking it above 4000rpm!

Wow, what size wheels are they? Do you know the width of the wheels and how wide the tyres are?
-
I dislike the interior colour, grey leather always looks a bit cheap imho, but the exterior colour is gorgeous

I've already got an 850CSi with Lotus White seats and a rare colour, Daytona Violet with the good 3 spoke sports wheel, in RHD etc. I'd just like it to have less mileage and be in better condition, but then don't we all?

If I won lotto I would put in one of those
It would have to bolt up to the 6 speed manual though, I can't imagine why anyone would want a supercar (E31) with an auto -
Are the rears rubbing on the top lip of the wheel arch? You could roll the inside of the lip upwards on the body of the car, depends on where they are rubbing I guess.
How much clearance do you have on the inside of the suspension to the rear tyre? Any chance you could chuck up some pics detailing all of this? -
So who will be the first to fit one to an E31?
-
I would have thought 245's wouldn't pose much of a problem. The stock 18x8.5" M-Par's ran on 245/40's with a 13mm offset so your ones might be rubbing on the inside at full lock, but I can't see how they would rub once you were moving.
I'm going to bet your problem is with the rears unfortunately. -
Does anyone know what oil goes into the AHK system? Mine will be getting overhauled and I would imagine it either uses ATF or Gear Oil or a very special and very expensive BMW oil.

Mine is virtually the same as that above!
The only difference is that my bonnet is perfect, but the rear wheel arches have a bit of rust in them on the rear edge. -
Tell me about the rust....my 850CSi is still being worked on. I'm fortunate enough to be getting parts from the wrecked UK 850CSi that found it's way to Canada.

The new wheel looks horrible! What would you do that for?
