Hi Danilo,
Yes I have this manual. It says for RHD vehicles lay branch B & C to the drivers side. No mention of branch D. But the wiring harness is not long enough to reach from one side of the cockpit to the other so I am presuming all the cockpit connections are on the same side of the car. I have also checked the part number on the wiring loom which is definitely for RHD. There is a different part# for the LHD wiring loom, which suggests the layout of the cables is different for RHD.Still struggling with this one. I have stripped out the Passenger (LEFT SIDE) footwell and still cannot find this damn connector.
Can anyone help on it's actual location? -
Hi Timm,
Do you know Paul's Username? -
Hi Timm:
I thought the wiring layout for a Right Hand Drive would be the mirror image of the Left-hand drive. The BMW instructions only shows the wiring layout for a Left-Hand Drive. If the cruise control loom has a chance of reaching the cruise control stalk, then it must enter the cabin via the drivers footwell and therefore the X76 should be within circa 12" of that area for the loom to reach it. The part of the loom that goes under the wing inner protector and into the engine bay to the actuator is long-enough to track across the rear of the engne bay from driver's side to passenger side. It would be too long if it was entering the engine bay on the passenger side.
I could really do with help from someone who has retrofitted fitted this to a RH drive vehicle.

I am in process of retro-fitting cruise control to my 1999 840 M62 Right-hand drive. All the hardware is fitted (Actuator; Column switch, control unit in boot). Now it is time to install the wiring loom.
In the middle of the loom are three connectors:
1) To column switch,
2) for Clutch (mine has a bypass link as its automatic)
3) black 6-pin plug-in connects to X76 (special eqpt), below instrument panel.I cannot find the connector for X76 anywhere!!!
I have the driver's footwell stripped out and have spent hours searching for it. Does anyone know where it is?

My good friend, Martin, has determined it as:

Thank you Danilo for this tip!

Thanks for looking but unfortunately not. The white clip pushes onto a spigot on the black bracket.

Can anyone tell me the part number for the white plastic clip (circled in red) on the Bowden Cable of the Cruise Control Actuator? I have the metal bracket (35411161630) but it doesn't come with the clip! Thanks

Car or no car, it is good to see you back on the site! There is tumble weed around and a gentle breeze occasionally disturbs the dust. Not the same banter as a couple of years ago (wasn't that when you were contributing?? ). I hope you find a car then we can get some postings going again.

Hi Ivan,
I would attempt to look at it myself. In the first instance I would gently spray some WD40 into the gap around the button. It may simply be dirt that is causing it to stick. -
Thanks Reinhard - that's an eye-watering price though!

Can anyone tell me the part number for the "C" Clip that goes over the end of the wiper arm to stop the wiper blade slipping out of the arm "hook"?

Unfortunately some parts are not available. From memory, the RIGHT trim (looking forward from the drivers seat) that goes to the side of the number plate is NLA.

Nick,
I would be happy to recommend Graham at Colourspray - Bromborough. His team were very dedicated and took time and trouble to ensure a great job. Graham was also very fair on price. -

Hi Angus,
It was nice to see you featured at Capesthorne Hall; all the hard work and effort was obviously appreciated by all and the Red, Blue & White was a nice touch.
Is the White one as nice as the reports often say?
CheersGraham
Unfortunately on the white 850, there was a fair amount of chrome sticky tape used to cover air box, fuse box etc - not original or my taste really. - but the punters liked it.

After disconnecting the batteries while I worked on my car, I found that the passenger door would not open from the outside, once the batteries had been reconnected.
I have done the Wokke door lock modifications and therefore was certain there wasn't a mechanical failure. I remembered seeing somewhere that the central locking can sometimes go out of synchronisation.
To re-sync the central locking I inserted the key into the drivers door lock, then turned it fully anti-clockwise and held it in that position for a few seconds. The door windows closed fully and pushed up against the top door seal and the locks clicked. I then unlocked the car with the remote button on the key. The passenger door opened perfectly from the outside - job done.!

Hi Timm,
The car is misfiring when it hits to maximum revs, I don't think it is changing gear early enough or fast enough.
