Any updates about this ? Can somebody at the German forum provide some details about how it looks ?
I have seen some "mechanical" approach to this, but the one at Heinrich´s gallery looks promising...

Hola.
Ese es uno de los prototipos que creó "xolmatic" hace ya unos años. Lamentablemente se tuvo que deshacer del 8 y hace bastante que no sabemos de él.
Saludos.
Zitat von MB;108789"To be honest, I don't really enjoy working on cars as I usually break something else or remove a lump of my body. And that really gives the impetus to document a repair"
I wonder how many of us feel the same way? I cannot claim to be as public spirited as Timm, but certainly recognize the reluctance when it comes to working on cars. In my case I work on them because I am too tight or skint to pay somebody else to do it. There is simply no way I would have been able to run my 8 without the help of this site and it's noted luminaries, Gerry, Reinhard, Timm...et al.
+1 !!!
...perfect for testing this...

Ref number at post header was incorrect... correct number is BMW Ref : 64 11 1 392 081
http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/64111392081/
Old part number:64 11 1 392 087
Is your A/C "on" or your HVAC control unit central roller wheel not in "0" ?
If yes, then it is normal...
Zitat von revtor;108509I'm glad you finally managed to reset the airbag light , but this whole issue is quite strange... Even though you measured the wiring to the diagnostic socket to be okay, it seems *something* is interfering with it. I'm clueless as to why this would only affect communication to the airbag module. All modules with diagnostics are connected directly or indirectly to the very same pins of the diagnostic socket and you had no issues reading those...
Yep, quite strange... I will try to check if i am now able to reach the SRS module from DIS... If it is working now, then "something" around got "confused" when the SRS went crazy.
Also, in the past, i disconnect the whole cabling from the SRS module and was able to diagnose every module at the car ( well. not all of them , as i have not been able to diagnose the EGS since the beginning despite i have tested with several ads32.dll libraries .. but this can be a topic for another thread .. ).
Cheers.
No need to get them from BMW. You can get the sensors from for example, http://www.oscaro.es ( if still at Spain ).
Also, you can buy good pads from http://www.ebcfrenos.es. I installed ( with the rear E38 calipers ) a set of EBC RedStuff, and they are quite good.
Regards/saludos.
and yes, this does not explain why the replacement module worked the same way....
FIXED !!!!
This did the trick..
http://forums.bimmerforums.com…/showthread.php?t=1639045
Connected to the X74 side of the SRS module directly, cutting the lines at the Airbag Module side.. then connect them to the SIR3 as supposed to be and not worked, then following the previous post.. and.... FIXED !!!! Bye, Bye Airbag light...
Will check another day is DIS is now able to recognize the module...
Cheers.
Hi Wolf.
Not sure about how many of us will be attending to Vienna ( if any ). I will post into our site with some links to several references at 8er.
Cheers.

PD: BTW... i got the fuse from the BMW dealer with no issues at all ( at stock ). Thanks for the info about the VW one.
According bmwfans it will fit all 8 series , and for CSi, if using CSI rear calipers ( not E38 750/740d ones )
Price update... 120 US$ / 90€ plus shipping... ( 35 US$ / 25€ to non EEC, 20€ to EEC countries )
Paypal accepted..
DMEs temp sensor replaced ( as it was sending an incorrect engine temp ) .... also both crankshaft speed sensors...
Now car is running like a charm...
Thanks for your support on this, guys.
Hi.
As i have upgraded to rear E38 calipers, i do not longer need the e31 rear lines bought to 8Tech a couple years ago. Lines were installed, used for no more than 7 kilometers ( aprox 5 miles ), then uninstalled and cleaned.
Requesting 40 €/ 55 US$ ( for EEC countries ) including shipping. For non EEC ones, please, request details.
Regards.
Just to compare.... ( shipping costs to USA will be about 50 US$ ... )
Very nice !!! Good luck.
Hi.
Used HVAC ( 64 11 1 392 081 ) for sale. I bought it by mistake, as it is not valid for my car ( mine is equipped with AUC )
150 US$ / 115 € ( plus shipping ( insured ( where available ) + tracking ) from Spain )
Regards.
Zitat von revtor;107874PS: I would strongly advice against inserting your key with transponder in the door lock when the heating coil is activated.
Strong magnetic field ( the coil ) causing the transponder to be erased , may be ?
