it deffinately seems like it should have classic status looking at the amount of parts cropping up that are no longer available....
not sure why the parts should go up in price unless they have to re-locate the parts to a different warehouse??

hi arnie! many thanks chap i will source that part through local BM dealership as per... keeping my eyes out for any breaking 840's in the future i guess...
again, many thanks!
Hi all! hope everyone is well! i have recently bought another 840Ci sport as a restoration project... having opened the account on the car with Sytners one of the peices recently purchased was a new centre console cover - surrounds OBC, radio, gear shift etc as the original is missing a small blanking plate to the right of the OBC... looking at the new one at sytner the new cover has come minus the same blanking plate!! checking their diagram it appears the part ( 51 16 8 128 599 ) is no longer available!
does anyone know of a car that is breaking or know where i can source this tiny plate from? having a hole in the console is pretty annoying!
The part is number 35 on the diagram - http://bmwfans.info/parts/cata…e_trim/centre_console/#35
any help greatfully received!
EXCELLENT! good work! hopefully it will travel across the water in one piece lol!
hi guys! hope all is well!?
just wondered what the part number is for this number-plate deletion plate below the kidneys is?
is it even a BMW part?? cant find it in the catalogue!?
has anyone tried M3 CSL wheels on theirs yet? 18" would be a better dia for the 8's suspension and handling etc but i reckon the CSL's might look quite good on ours!???
hi Guys!
unfortunately im in Harrogate this weekend on a detail that could possibly see me there until monday afternoon! due to the allocated time i cant shift it to other weeks! will have to take a rain check this year!
Will try to set up a Midlands meet in October (early Oct) if anyones up for it?
Hope the weather holds for sunday for you guys!!
Hi Guys!
just wondered if this was still on!?
hope everyone is well!
kind regards,
Ben.
hi harry, i need a full set in the silver/grey RHD. please put me down.
Cheers.
Ben.
as timm on this, i use 3 products for interior vinyl/plastics; 303 aerospace protectant - can also be used on leather, and swissvax protecton and protecton matt.
regards,
Benji.
as koizumi here, straight pipes from cats and delete the centre resonator. If the cats are gone locate a catalyst manufacturer and order some direct replacement stainless steel ones or some more "open-cell" 100/200 sport cats if your really troubled by emissions.
Otherwise go for a free-flow system and have some de-cat pipes made up.
as for mufflers / backboxes theres a few options to go for... as koizumi and many others = magnaflow or go custom stainless steel, there are other sources to choose from - Engle or Eisenmann.
kind regards,
Benji
hi Gerry, put me down for a set of the bushes... need this doing asap really, just trying to find someone to do it all at a good price are you still looking at the rear subframe swap??
castrol saf XJ for me... i used redline shockproof in my skyline and it was good stuff... but castrol SAF for a BM with LSD is fine.
good lord! its turned into the spoiler/no spoiler argument
im putting it off due to saving for the rear suspension/bushes rebuild!
thanks for the input guys!
I agree, this is the best forum im a member of tbh, im still a member of forums ive owned cars with from the past and still contribute now and then, however my previous car (some may know what it was) im still a member of the forum and over the past year or so its gone from bad to worse... online arguments that degrade and deviate from an authors original post until abusive members/keyboard warriors get the bums smacked...or banned.
So well done all. This is a fantastic community.
Benji.
haha hopefully the spoiler-no-spoiler debate wont arise again! at least with the lip spoiler its not slap-in-the-face obvious its there, especially on a dark coloured car... if after a while i want to remove it, i can, without repainting/filling the bootlid.
is it worth paying an extra £50 for an OEM bmw part I wonder....
or would an E39 M5 one fit? http://www.c3bmw.co.uk/StockIt…1§ion=2&Item=unassign
...Bit pricey though!
ok guys im going for a lip spoiler.... found this very cheap one on that big auction site thing; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayI…geName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123
anyone bought one from here? not sure if BMW sell them? cant find a part no.
what about putting OEM silencers back on? i take it theres no baffles in the magnaflow units.
if you have your originals id try this first as its a cheap fix...if its not as loud as you'd like, cut the baffles out of the standard silencers....still a cheap job.
Hi Busta, id speak to Gerry at Phoenix Motorsport - hes been fitting alot of rads lately and can advise.
hope it gets fixed soon!
Ben.
