i will travel if needs be altho if the car is required for more than a day it becomes quite a hassle...

I may enquire at Sytners Nottingham to see if there are any 8 proficient guys...if they throw fourth a team of spotty 18 year olds ill turn away. :winkwink:

cheers Argonaut, i take it theyre in lancashire?

any more? someone local to me talked about a place in huddersfield? cant seem to find it now...must be sandalls as i used to live around the corner from them (literally). :top:

ok guys, re servicing my 8, are there any renowned 8 specialists in the midlands?

or am i ok to leave it to my local BMW dealership?

I dont care what names on the door, its quality of service and workmanship that im interested in as all of you guys are.

Ive heard mixed comments about the lads at my local 'specialist' garage...
not naming names as i havent had personal dealings with them...yet.

Hi Lloyd, your correct mate, thats exactly what the 8er specialist said down at Sytners this avo...very helpful chap i must add.

he reckons i can do it..saving £50 odd quid that they would charge.

thanks for the advice on the bulbs, ive bought 4!

your right with the stereo, altho i have the original pass code so i might, if space is tight, unplug it as i dont want to mark the surrounding console.

cant wait to be able to tell the time!!!

many many thanks for the advice!

    Hi guys!

noticed this morning that the digital clock isnt working...well...it tells the correct time but doesnt illuminate!!! very annoying.

all other parts of the displays are A.OK...??? are they separate units? easy fix?

    cheers.

hi mate, knowing a few cars over the years that had come from keighley id steer well clear.

engines going pop after a week or so are also common occurences with these guys too.

Both the cars and the owners/employees are suspect IMHO and a vehicle like this needs to come from a good home.

Be patient, youll find a good one.

Hi Guys! and Diddy - the bloke who recommended this forum to me so big love there!

pics to be uploaded this weekend chaps when ive got some time.

car is in for an oil service today - i ALLWAYS begin ownership of a car on new oils & filters etc.

i must say, and i keep saying...its absolutely FANTASTIC to drive..aswell as look at!!! i love the steering, the dollop of torque, the silky smooth gearchange...possibly the smoothest autobox ive come across and the cabin is superbly well layed out.

JUD, ill send you my reg!

    cheers!

Adrian flux chap...they quoted me the happiest by far and only got an excess of £350!!!

The underwriters are NIG which is nice to know also.

    My quote was £480 inc a few add-ons! im 28, 4yrs NCB and 1 SP30 offence.

    :mrgreen-angel:

Hi guys n gals! just a quick hello!

for years ive loved the 8 series...never really been a fan of any other BMW apart from the old 635CSIA and the E46 CSL...too many M3's around to be special IMHO.

a few weeks ago i bought my E31!! R*** HBA..if any of you guys are aware of the car? it was owned by a property tycoon and sheffield united chairman!
...i must say it is in mint condition...only 67,000 on the clocks and its in unmarked cosmos black. Shes a 4.4 MB62 Individual Sport built in April 08 so a very new example. Full BM service history etc...

right im off to take a look around here!

    hope you guys are well!

    regards,

    Ben. Nottingham.
