What are those valve/pump units like to remove on an 850?
Last week mine turned into captain steamo on the way back around the M25
All I could see was lots of steam from the n/s so assume the pump or valve is at fault?
Doesn't look like theres a lot of room to get at it ? :hmmmm:

That scanner can read and clear fault codes
Plug it in, turn it on and select the manufacturer/ model/ year from a drop down

3nd pic above, 1st after menu gives you the "codes" option
Sub menus will also allow you to check different functions of the car
If there are fault codes present it will tell you what they are and give you the option to clear them.
But it can't fix the fault if it's still present :)

    Better pic of size

Typical I bought a snap on scanner a few years back to fix another car and also have it as one of those "handy" tools.
It came with various leads n keys much of which I never really looked at
Not that I know how to use it fully, but it's come in handy a few times since.
Never even thought to try it on my 8 as I didn't think it would work :dontknow:
After finding out it came with a bm1b lead today it seems it does :top:

    Made my day that

The switches are the lower two shown, I don't think you would miss them:

Many thanks for the replies :top:
In that case I guess my (93 850ci) doesn't have heated seats.
But it has a rear blind and soggy suspension button instead

Time of the year n all that

Did all 8 series come with heated seats or was they an option?
Can't say I've noticed them on mine ?
Would there be an extra button for them ?

Have the triangle but the rest are missing or not OEM?

Are the other tools not the same as 5 or 7 series?
8's no but must be loads of those in breakers yards

Don't get too excited , that Guy is a nutter;-)

Looking at some of those prices then id agree
But if you specialise in that sort of vehicle it maybe you know the market and what the parts might stand ?
Doesnt make them any cheaper tho :harhar:

My 93 850ci had a fractured front to rear AHK? fluid line
By the looks of it the pipe had been replaced in the past by blind bob :naughty:
Still I've almost finished replacing the suspect section but the fluid has since run out.
Can someone point to a post that shows or explain the procedure to refill and bleed
    Many thanks

As you say the V10 engine and box should fit the hole
Add 2k ish for the fab parts (mounts, prop exhaust) and it might work ?
+ another 8k for the running gear :hmmmm:
Now if its a case of 5 wires to connect up then that would do me

It's all the wiring that puts me off ... and the 10k cost :hmmmm:

Assuming you had a 5ltr V10 engine and gearbox package from a M5 or M6

Would it physically fit into a 8 series, or would the body shell need modding before it would fit?

It looks like a UK turbo - headlight washers being the giveaway that it's a UK model rather than an import. Around 220 BHP for that year I believe, but not much over 1200 Kg (depending on A/C etc) so still pretty quick.

That's the one. It is a uk car.
Standard apart from an exhaust, so guess the power will be about stock

hmm, maybe I'll be fixing a mystery misfire on my 8 come the weekend of the dual lol :hmmmm:

Either that or roll out my Datsun 260z and go jap on jap :harhar:

Got to uphold my honour some how

'99 UK spec Impreza Turbo 2000 only had 214hp, but that was enough for 0-62 in 6.1 seconds.

    Sounds about right
Poor phone pic (her car is left car below) and mine caught between the pair

Think its just a WRX, but don't quote me on that as I don't do Subaru :naughty:

Still could be worth it, if only for a laugh :hmmmm:

If your 850 is an automatic, forget it unless she's seriously bad at driving quickly.

Yes my 850s an auto - yes shes a poor driver :hmmmm:

I know the impreza is quick of the line but if she fluffs the start?
I could still be in with a chance at the top end, over 1/4 mile ?
If not I think it only fair I tell her she must pull away in 3rd gear :toothbrush:

My wife has a year 99 uk spec Subaru impreza turbo :ahhhhh:

Now she's had the car for a year she's started to know what the throttle does
She now fancies her chances against my 850ci @ some where like Santa pod

Do I take her challenge or should I bow out now ? :hmmmm:
