Also check to see if there is any play in the steering box.....

    Forgot to add, will do
I believe there is play in there, as the steering wheel can be turned a few deg without the wheels turning
Had a read up on old threads here but didn't see a deffo how to?
Tho i'm sure there is ?
Some mentioned an allen bolt and others a slotted screw, but not sure what it should be as my cars a 93 850
Still I'm sure when the new part turns up I will soon find out :top:

    From a standing start
    Between a stock 840 and 850 which is the quicker car, 0 - 100mph

And from 60mph to 100mph, which is quicker?

Both manual or both auto, no mods.

is this the same thing as see on "drifting styled" Nissan 200sx's where the pop-up light are just half way up???

I thought it was a great idea :)
So much so i've removed both head lights on my 850 and ducted cold air feeds straight into the air flow meters, aka turbo stylie boost me up scotty :top:
Now at over 100mph I can simply turn the lights on to add an extra 22hp from forced induction :harhar:

Mind you its not much use at night now :silenced:

Hi 900ss - what was the procedure - did you get your friendly tyre and exhaust people to do it ? How does it sound ? Is it like the link above ?
    GARC

Yep, I took it to a local exhaust/wheel shop
Told them what I wanted and left it with them for a few hr
They've cut the centre box out and replaced it with 2 link pipes.
It still retains the original bolt on front fixings so can be retro fitted if required
Had it up on ramps and it does look a neat job for the £80 charged
Even kept me the centre box still should I want to get it welded back in.
As for sound it has more of a rumble to it now
I'm happy with it now put it that way :top:

In doing so has it affected performance / fuel cons. ???:hmmmm:

To early to tell but guess it could be worse ;)
Not that theres a fault with the car, but more the way I boot it :harhar:

if you only want bog standard

    More or less yes
    Cheers for the pointers
I missed them mintex till you pointed them out lol

Whilst I had my 850 on ramps today I had a look at the steering drag linkage and idler setup.
Whilst turning the wheels left and right it seemed to show the idler arm move left and right ok but also move up slightly, as if it was moving in an arc ?
Does that sound like the arm or centre bearing is warn?
Is it an easy part to change or is there more to it to get if out in situ?

I need to replace both from brake discs on my 93 850ci 5ltr
The front faces of the discs look fine, but the rear of the disc is badly rusted.
Can anyone recommend what brand to use, i.e oe or ebc etc, or are they all much the same?

Yes something like that would be nearer the mark :top:
Maybe just a little quieter mind  ;)

And: No, there is nothing wrong with cutting out the center silcencer.

That link to that site shows what i assume is a link pipe to replace the center box ?

    ---- X Pipe M70 & M73
    X-Pipe mit einem 60 mm Rohrdurchmesser für die V 12 M 70 und M 73.
Hier ein Bild von der M70-Version: ....

Is that what it is or is that part of there exhaust system?
Sorry I dont understand what its about or how much that section is?

Theres nothing wrong with the exhaust on my 850 but it sounds to quiet for my liking.
The cars already fitted with Remus back boxes but the car still sounds as if its way over silenced.
So any reason why I shouldn't have the centre box cut out, or is that a no no for some reason?
Or are there other ways to release a few more db's ?
