FYI - from ClubE31 posts 10/2006:
http://www.clube31.net/forum/v…p?t=3289&highlight=brunei
We have fully vetted the E31 list; some of the VINs reported are incorrect and eventually were re-validated from the BMW 8 Series Inventory Project:

Here's the corrected list:

Wokke is currently making some Style 5s in various sizes and widths.
He may also have a factory set. -
Question.
What years are these leaky cars?
My 95 doesnt do this. Maybe this was something changed during production.

Paper clip cut off, and use the alligator clip that most multimeters come with that screw on the end of a test lead.

Hi. Welcome. Nice looking car you have there....
-
I recommend starting at the pointy end and pull the velcro loose, block them from contact by inserting paper, then slowly pulling/prying the insert at the bend, and working your way back towards the flat end.
2 screwdrivers prying from both sides of each insert works best.
Slowly. Be carefull not to crack the finish on the wood, by bending it too much.
I also recommend buying about 5 of the plastic deals that hold each insert to the dash. These wear out from removal and get sloppy.
They are like $0.25 ea. -
That is not your adjuster, if your spinning the knob at the front under the light. That is to manually lower/raise the light due to power failure.
The real way to adjust your light, is the 4 mounting tabs on the bucket unit. Loosen the hexnut, adjust the allen headed stud, and re-lock with the hexnut. You will have to raise/lower the hood multiple times to ensure proper fitment.
(also raise that adjustment knob that you have been playing with.....to the highest setting (middle of high) with the light up, so it will return to the proper level.
Once the bucket/lid is adjusted to the hood, you will then be required to adjust the bulbs to proper level. There is adjustment screws on the projector housing.
Good luck. -
Yes. Thank you Pawel.
Now I just need to learn to read it.

PZ, is it possible to scan that article in a PDF format? I would really like to be able to see it for reference.
Thanks

Thanks Gerry. Very good detailed explanation.

I would call and schedule your appointment. While on the phone I would inquire if your car has had Inspection II performed. I suspect it has not been done as your car mileage is low. Inspection II changes the brake fluid. I would have all fluids changed due to the age of your car.
Or you could do the full Insp II early. Or you drive more and get to 60k and do it on schedule.

You can call you local BMW dealer and try to get it, or you can register your car at 8Coupe.com and get a build sheet there. Jud is the registrar for the 8coupe.com website. Its goal is to provide this information to members, and also track ownership/locations of all the 8s built.
Register your car at 8coupe and get your info. -
Maybe a respray....
But Master said it was Estoril from BMW....
And...I think it sure could be....bad pics for sure....
Have you seen it in person? -
Could be Estoril or Avus. Estoril was a very popular choice for the UK 840 sports. What color is yours? Looks very close.

When charging your batteries in your garage, make sure you put them on a rubber mat or wood 1" or thicker. Concrete KILLS batteries.
-
I store mine over the winter on a float charger only, but disconnecting batteries are fine. However, I dont think thats the best thing for battery longevity.
If I was worried about mildew, I think I would rent a Ozone generator and run inside before I shut it up, in conjunction with possibly buying a BIG dessicant device to leave on the floorboard. That should work wonders.
