The idea is that the hot air is sucked out. This may help you to identify the correct fitment.
Or simply go by the part number of the covers:
36 11 2 227 007= left cover
36 11 2 227 008= right cover -

Wolf - I thought it was OK to use copper grease on the wheel bolts. I have been using it for over 20 years on all my lug bolts with a proper torque setting and never have had one get loose.
I learned to never use it on lug bolts because they could come loos even if tightened with the correct torque.
Why exactly? I could only guess.... -
Because of the risk that they come lose.

Thanks for the info. Of course I know Gerry - who doesn't
-
To most mechanics I know copper grease seems to be something totally unknown.
I use it all the time:
When installing ABS sensors incl. the little M6 screw.
The fixing screws for the brake rotors.
Handbrake cables where they go into the wheel carrier.
Various front and rear axle bolts
etc. etc.
Only on wheel bolts it is an absolute NoNo. -
I'm going to reproduce those bolts and will hopefully soon be able to offer them.
Most of them are in pretty bad condition.
I hope you installed your new ones using some grease so they can't corrode inside the bearing anymore. -

Hello guys! I have installed a generator to hidrogen for save fuel in my e31, but i can´t reduce it.
Can someone help me with this problem? Thanks.I've played with that stuff myself and it is absolutely useless. If it has any value at all it is of educational nature.

Hard to see on the pictures but is the thread on the new bolt long enough?
This is the M14x90, correct? -
OK Steve. I need 48 more cars to start the smallest possible production run
Cheers
Wolf -
if there is enough interest in those bolts I will start a small production. I already discussed the possibilities with my mechanics shop.

10.9 is the strength of the material. Standard steel bolts are 8.8

Hi wokke, no he never botherd to do anything to rear bolts. I have been looking on the web for similar bolts, Have any of the other bmw,s with the m62 engines have similar bolts ie 5/7 series or the x5.Thank for your input.
check the online ETK like http://www.bmwfans.info
what you need is:
33 32 1 133 883 (M12X1,5X78) with excentric washer 33 32 1 133 884,
33 32 1 133 881 (M14X1,5X85) with excentric washer 33 32 1 133 882
At least one similar bolt is used on the X5-E53:
33 32 1 097 213 (M14X1,5X95)
