If any feels, like I did, that the brakes on the E31 are almost criminally weak (and its biggest single weakness as a design), I can highly recommend the 330mm 4-piston Alcon units which Birds fitted to Rommel - apart from the squealing after we first got them (might have to look into different pads next time), they really do transform the car and give FAR greater confidence in traffic and going into corners.
Combined with the stiffer suspension, Rommel's handling has now been transformed... time for some more power next....
