I had no issues whatsoever during wintern and we had some serious snow. The only issue was, that sometimes my car has been the snow plow because it was too low to the ground.
I sure would love to have my BBS on but no. It was on 16"/235 stud-less Hakkapelitta. In dry snow it's no problem, but this was some rain/snow mix from hell...

The strangest things happens when you drive your car all around the year. Yesterday I drove from Viared to Seglora. It was about 15 cm of snow-slush and the road wasn't plowed.
If I had stopped I would have get stuck, and there is nothing for 15km. So I kept a steady speed in third gear... Halfway through something cracked under the car and it started to sound strange. I kept an eye on oil and water and I was quite sweaty now. 
I went straight to BMW and it was the cover under the gearbox that had folded backwards of all snow-slush.
Back ON topic. We'll see what happens, it sound like a really nice trip.

So it seems that I have the same problem.
Everything work but as soon as I reach for the volume the sound start to break up. Tried with another head unit and it was the same, my conclusion the amp.
The amp in the car is a Blaupunkt with BMW part no: 65 12 1 392 009
I have got a hold of two other with part no: 65 12 1 379 387 and
65 12 8 350 407. I can´t get info if they will work correct in my car, does anyone here know that? I don´t want to buy them just to try...
(Yes a stereo upgrade is coming but it is more important to get everything in working condition first)

Jag ser det mer som ett pågående projekt. Jag kanske är i minoritet som kör min bil året runt, men varför ska man inte njuta fullt ut?
Det som skall åtgärdas före sommaren:
* Fixa läckande taklucka
* Ta reda på var all kondens i kupén kommer från och åtgärda
* Fixa trasig originalstereo (förmodligen slutsteget)
* Leta upp och åtgärda vad som drar ur batterierna
* Fixa microbrytare i förardörren
* Fixa två utblås för kliman som bara blåser kallt
Samt vanligt underhåll:
* Oljebyte med Engineflush och nytt filter
* Byta kupéluftfilter
* Byta tändstift
* Byta luftfilter
* Kolla alla remmar samt spännare
* Byta olja i växellåda
* Byta olja i bakaxelklump
Man går inte sysslolös!

I see it more as an ongoing project. Maybe I'm in the minority who drive my car year round, but why should I not fully enjoy?
This has to be rectified before the summer:
* Fix leaky sunroof
* Find out where all the condensation inside the car is coming from and fix
* Fix broken original stereo (probably the amp)
* Locate and fix what draws out the batteries
* Fix the micro switch in the driver's door
* Fix two vents for the AC who just blows cold
As well as regular maintenance:
* Oil change with Engine flush and new filter
* Replace cabin air filter
* Replace spark plugs
* Replacing air filters
* Check all belts and tensioners
* Changing oil in gearbox
* Changing oil in rear axle
The work goes on!
