Well, I'm here.... IN MY MIND
-
Merry Christmas to all, nice to see you're still around Steve! Looking forward to some good weather and meetings
-
Phil, I did mine recently, thanks to ECP's reasonable prices
You're right that it's one of the fiddliest things that I've had to do! Squeezing it in is half the problem, then getting my gorilla hands in there to pop in bolts and nuts and fat rubber washers was a challenge to say the least. Took far longer than it should have..
Couldn't test it because my aircon needs a top up i think, but at least it's in there, good luck
-
Good luck with tomorrow Phil, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful drive back
I also chose a car that had been standing for a long time, and I saw it as me rescuing 'her'. She was sat at one of those long term storage places all out in the open and covered in muck. Funnily enough she also ended up at Gerry's for new suspension.

Keenans old Car, now looking for it's 3rd new owner inside 12 months doesn't usually bode well with potential buyers+ the seller sounds an absolute knob end
Agreed! I read the ad and it just wound me up, why do these people feel it necessary to slag off the M60's in other 8's? Mine's still going strong so bollocks
Rant over, carry on -
Ok, had a quick look and it looks as if I did what you did, so the spare one I have is the wrong one, sorry.
-
Nick, it's the same for the M60 as I found out and ordered the wrong filter. When I dug a little deeper it turns out that there's an update that can be performed to install a spiral type cylinder in the middle of the filter.
My car has not got this, so subsequently the opening filter is too big. I've now got the correct filter, so if my 'other' one is any good to you, you can have it. I'll dig it out and take a snap of it.

Angus, there was this very debate over on the PH site:

Not sure if I'm allowed to do this but it is in the spirit of assisting a fellow 8 owner. Please feel free to delete this response if it's deemed to violate any rules.
My opinion? The Jag, whilst a very nice car, just doesn't seem to have the presence of the 8.

Ha, don't know what you've been smoking Steve, but I'm glad the effects are wearing off
-
Oh blimey mate! Just got back from hols and thought I'd see what was going on and bang..
Really sad to see you go Steve, but I know where you're at, got a 17 yr old itching to get driving and that'll be another car for us soon.. I gave my old SAAB to my sister just to get shot of one out of the 'fleet'.
Good luck matey, you'll miss it I'm sure. But at least you experienced it
Mick -
That just looks perfect, nice one!
-
Completely agree! One of my (many) pet hates..
I understand that it's subjective, it's just not art to my mind. A skip, an unmade bed, a cow in a plastic box.. come on, they must be sniggering all the way to the bank.
A beautiful 8 painted by hand with a decorating brush? I don't think so! Why the hell these 'artists' have to peddle their neurosis.... Ok, I'll stop there
I know it's far deeper than I can appreciate, obviously! But to me, it's all bollocks and 'they' know it too. Flame on.... -
Looks like a fake to me Burn, just look at these beauties...

Very nice Steve,
If you ever get bored with those wheels mate..... -
Nice one and as already said, well deserved. Nice to meet you Tim and I will and do spend lots of time going through the repairs on your site.
In fact a lot of the work that I've done on my 8 is largely thanks to Tim and the contributors to the few 8 Series sites. Makes things easier all round and the car isn't as scary to own as it was initially. -
Welcome, that looks like a good example you have there
Huldra, I did contemplate the Swiss meeting (not enough time to plan properly), but the journey seemed a little involved, but not impossible. Even the wife was looking interestedMick

Very nice Egil, and welcome to the 58 club
