Nice mod there Steve... But..... That shade of blue is not right on the money...
I too like the idea of joining it all up though... 2 big fat letter box shape tips should do the trick...

I did mine on the floor with the back end raised as high as safely possible. If on a ramp and single handed use a transmission jack otherwise a trolley jack is fine.
The worst nut & bolt is the top one I can't remember the size now 22, 24 or 27mm..A 3/8ths air drive ratchet would have been good for undoing the output shaft bolts..
If I think of anything else I will add later....
Why not save the swap for the wrench fest at Lloyd's MV Department...

Didn't help much then did I.... Sorry.

I think you are right.... Did you see this thread....

Have a read here my friend... Hope it helps..

Think you are right Steve.
Sure it is only E34 M5 diff's that fit...

The date for reference is 1st Aug 1992.
For all petrol engined vehicles first used before 1 August 1992, all gas engined vehicles and vehicles other than passenger cars first used before 1 August 1994 the test procedure consists of a metered check at the normal idle speed, the so-called`non-catalyst’ test.
I just confirmed with my MOT friend that this is correct. But strictly speaking if the Cat's are there on a pre Aug 92 then they should test they work..
Result!! At least for us early car owners....

Just had a chat with my local Tester and he says that if a car is fitted from factory then the test machine will tell him to do a cat test and then the emissions will not fall within range and hey presto Bend over Mr M and grease up!!
He has no way of telling if the car has been chipped so stand back up!!
Cars equipped with headlamp washers and adjustable lights can have HID'sI'm going to check with another mate tomorrow who "Cough cough" is a little on the "You will get that done won't you" side
More to come...

Are the e36 one the same.... One model is but I am unsure which now.
-
So in other words... We've been shafted again.....
Except....
Vehicles fitted with aftermarket HID systems must also be fitted with properly working washer and levelling systems.
So that's all right for us with washers and adjustable lights?
Not so good for us who had Cat's....

I love yellow too, I used to have a yellow Fiat Coupe, that was a good looking car too. I've tried to persuade Peter Rice to sell me his yellow CSi but he's having none of it. One day...
Get in line Nick....
Been after that for years... (Might take a Kidney sale though)

Welcome aboard to 'The Madhouse'...
Great car, great legs and great pictures!! -
Just to clarify one point....
Whatever I paid to Phillipe back in the day to become a gold member...( I was also a TEAM member back then but hay ho....) does not mean a thing then....
Yes I am a bit bitter, It was only with Jud's help did I manage to organise the first huge gathering of 8's in this country 34 I recall at Gaydon. I have helped s much as I can, never asked for a thing but this forum Must be open to all with free (Or minimal €25/year) access to the wealth of knowledge and expertise on tap.
When I see a post on the front page and have genuine information to add but cannot I just said WTF and went back to Ebay....
It's worth the small change just for Gerry's posts.... Oh and the regularity at which my mate Stevep840/850/840!! changes his cars...
Rant over...

Wow, Revtor....
Thanks, you just saved me an hour of typing... Could not put it better myself....
We have become fragmented now and with the loss of some info behind closed doors I can see no improvement...
I could have sworn I paid membership fees years ago come to think of it... No body said it was until the money ran out though...

Sorry to here about that but I do think that the name of the person should remain and not have to be edited out....
Saves us all from the same fate!!

Noggie it wasn't you and the lights.....

We had a member who arranged some HID conversions long time ago. I paid good money for 2 sets but only received 1 set. He basically said it was not his problem as he was the middle man!!
Don't get me started

I will be totally honest...
I have been with the 'clube31' for 8 or so years.... I used to be quite active but since the last change with the 'locked' sections I can't be bothered. I go to read a post and it tells me to So if I have to pay for this I won't. If everyone contributed a small amount then surely this would be better....
I have supported this site from the early days and even after getting ripped off from a forum member still I was here supporting others....
Sorry for the rant I just hate the elitist way some things are done...
Good day.

Hi there...
Been there, done that!! I would modify the bell housing to allow removal of the 4 small 10mm bolts that hold the back of the sump on.
This would allow removal of the sumps without having to remove the engine/gearbox.
I will think of more things and post again....
