Re: EDC Question
Zitat von Rick_E31Alles anzeigenHi guys.
I own a BMW 850i A form 1991.
I really like it and I already own it for 5 years now.
My car has got EDC, with wich you can adjust the springs: 'sport' or 'comfort'.
But I dont notice any changes when I drive the car.
It seems that there isn't any difference between sport or comfort.
Does somebody know something about his?
Is this normal or is something broken?
(I have noticed the EDC computer in the trunk of the car)
I would be vary happy if anyone could help me
I guess your suspensions have been faded out. My first E31 was 1991 850i with EDC, but I couldn't tell the difference between K and S either after 12 years with over 140,000km mileage. Therefore, I replaced them with Bilstein shocks + H&R coils (low down 30mm). However, as I find the car was too low for bumpers, I then changed it to CSi suspension kit (low down 10mm). Both Bilsten+H&R and CSi suspensions rided very well for my 850i.
The second E31 I am having now is 1995 850Ci with EDC and only 58,000km mileage. I can tell the difference between K and S, but though K is quite comfort, S becomes very bumpy and the ride quality is not very good. I suggest you may go for aftermarket or CSi suspensions. They ride better than EDC.
