^ If anyone is interested I will gladly give it the once over to save wasted journeys, as it's close to me. I would like some of those "18 inch" Throwing stars!
EDIT: R888 SAB
Initial scout round, looks tidy, delaminating rear screen, no sunroof/arch rust. 73,000 miles, 2 owners. Car from Brackley, owner selling due to new Ferrari. -
^Same 840 again on 2.3.13 at Dunkirk.

Mind you better a Cat A, if that exists, than a Bongo
You wouldn't want that b: The vehicle must scrapped and no parts or components can be sold other than for scrap. Usually fire.

Another spotted by a colleague on 12.2.13, 840, driving on Nottingham ring road, not sure of the color due to the street lighting but may have been blue.

^ So we are perhaps fortunate to still just be in the "golden years", with a lot of new OEM parts available, plenty of used parts cars in circulation and aftermarket specialists producing upgrade/replacement parts?

Remove or fold down the back seats.
The front edge of the shelf is held with plastic clips down in to the body, lift shelf upwards.
The rear of the shelf has metal tabs that slot in to retaining clips, pull forwards.
-
I may do mine again, just the shelf that isn't Alcantara:). It is harder to stretch than the nylon, but Iv'e seen them done so it must be possible.
-
It wasn't so much the color that was the problem for me, it was the way it levitated when driving with the windows down, due to the fabric not being stuck to the shelf.
I suppose I could have put a couple of cushions on it... No.Slightly related: Anyone done high speed driving with the windows down/sunroof open and had items on the back seats?

Gixx: Where did you source the material and did you have to glue it to the original parcel shelf? It looks a really neat job!
8Tech: You have instilled some confidence in me to tackle the job out of the car!
Heres the old thread mate.

My PArcel shelf has become a cobalt blue due to the effects of sunlight - should be charcoal grey to match the headlining. Has anyone had a similar situation occur - is it possible to re-dye it? Hopefully in situ as I don't want to go to all the trouble to remove it, especially as I have the rear sun-blind option.
Mine was the same blue as you describe. There was some difference of opinion amongst the members at the time, as to whether it was bleaching or a factory color.
I went for Black/charcoal nylon with a thin foam backing. Almost OEM looking. May change it to Alcantara when I run out of jobs.

No way steve, what about the SC?
-
Total nobs! At least he can put it behind him.

wow, did this add make it to TV? I seem to remember something similar ages ago but can't remember what it was advertising or seeing an 8, but I remember Shiny, Shiny Boots of Leather by the Velvet Underground!
Richard, as I understand it the tint is the only difference. Perhaps one of the folks familiar with US spec will confirm. -
Just had this years renewal - up from £461 to £587
Should it not go the other way the older they/I get
Same for me last time. I shopped around and got a much better quote, told the ones I was with I was changing and they matched it. I still moved to the new ones as it just showed they were taking the p**s!
I feel for Gerry’s lad, I knew this was going to catch lots of us out, although his case is slightly different as he was insured.
My point is why should I have to insure a vehicle that is not driven on the road?
I know if I SORN it, it's OK, but if you have a lot of stuff it becomes a full time job.I currently have six vehicles, all fully taxed, insured and MOTd and use two of them at present. One hasn't been used for three years and another for two years.
My daughter got a new car a while back from a dealer as a trade in. The MOT had expired and it needed a little work. It was still taxed.
The plan was to leave insurance etc. running on her old car and in a few days, when the work was done, swap over to the new one. The car was not on the public road.I contacted DVLA as technically she should SORN the new car as it was now owned by her and had no insurance. I didn't want them to drop a fine on her.
DVLA said this was a very rare situation and they didn't really know what to say!
They wanted her to surrender the tax disc and SORN the car, but as the V5 was not in her name she couldn't SORN it. She would have lost part month on the tax and could not re-tax it until the V5 (log book) came back in her name, possibly up to three weeks.
We got a verbal agreement that they would not fine her for the period we waited for the V5 to arrive from them.
Two weeks later, swapped over to the new car.GEEEEZ! Rant over.
