Seeing as the board is a bit quiet i thought i'd say something. Just fitted replacement K&N air filters to the 850 (6 spd) this morning.Went out for a spin & thought it was a fair bit sharper/responsive, wondered if any one else done/noticed the same. Car also has complete stainless system, dunno if that helps along with the filters. Thats it,nothing exciting. You guys are always saying for people to post things! Les

    Help!Tappet rattle

Hi RAC69, not saying this is going to work but its worth a go. I had a Cosworth some years ago which had same problem, someone from the club recomended pouring a can of WYNNS hydraulic tappet cleaner in,run the engine for however long it says then change the oil.Bugger me if it did'nt cure it! never had the problem again. Its a cheap option.

    The Grand Reunion!!

Thats a tough one. Got to be the looks for me,every angle is just right.Apparently the rear of a car is the most differcult to design & the 8s is bloody gorgeous! The list goes on....

Hope this dont sound obnoxious but,as some have talked about their "headrests" not fitting to their sizes/driving positions i'd like to add that the head restraints are there to save injury in the event of a rear end shunt,no matter if your 4' & a fag paper or 6'+ its not designed to support your head whilst driving. If that came across cocky, sorry,it want ment to.Les

    TYRE Survey

Had F1s on previous, just changed wheels(diamond cut parallel's)& tyres to continental contisport contact. After reading how good they are in magizines and trying them myself i gotta say there's no comparison.
Conti's are as good as Piolt's in my view.

i know what you mean, sometimes you dont get replys...better that than smart ass replys like your thick or something, like i've had.
any way...the only things i'd think of doing to the car is taking the wheels off and covering the discs but not air tight so theres no condensation,if outside cover car with a dust sheet with a tarpaulin over that.check anti-freeze and maybe put some slick 50 in with the oil so when you start it for the first time theres a bit of protection.hope that helps, have a good xmas les

thanks for the info steve, dont take this the wrong way but when i seen your car at Gaydon i thought ..love the car but those wheels dont do it justice. In my eyes if the wheels are'nt "right" the car looks like its tired, fat & cumbersome...hence im fussy.Like you i shall get board and fancy a change after a while so i'd like to try and get it right. Again, thanks for your help...look forward to putting a face to steve840 one day,as there's only one county between us. Happy crimbo Les

by the way steve, are those RS 3 s on yours? if so,standard or with the wider/deeper rim? they were another option on my list. Les

yeah masses.........of crap looking wheels that would suit a hot hatch but would not do an 8 any any favors. so far the Alutec replica is favourite.
I'd prefer parallel's in chrome but as far as i can see the US is only option...unless someone knows otherwise.Dish apperrance rather than flat or cup wheels is prefered.

can anyone recomend where i can get some 18" wheels for an 850? prefer the uk but will look overseas if need be. choice seems to be limited here.

can anyone recomend/know of chips for a uk/euro spec 850i. im struggling to find one that gives more than 6-10 bhp.thanks in advance, les

    window tinting

thanks guys, i'll have to think if its gonna be worth that cost, did'nt think it was gonna be straight forward.
bonnett looks the bollocks by the way steve, seems a shame to paint it looking like that.

has any one had their rear window tinted? im looking to tint the sides & rear but the rear looks impossible, the local specialist is unsure aswell.do the rear seats & shelf need to come out? if so,how? any info greatfully recived.

any decisions on the november meet ?...glos was mentioned.all seems to gone quiet.i...as im sure others do...need to plan ahead. here's hoping it happens, les
