Because of the 8 series' large capacity + amount of cylinders it is anyone guess, unless someone has put it to practice. You would have to check the top end acceleration times. I think a CSI would easily out run it at the top end as i dont think the M3 is capable of more then 160mph, thats derestricted of course

The 8 should be a classic but NOT EXPENSIVE TILL I GET ONE

You would think something like that would be picked up thru all of the durability testing they do these days... Do you know how widespread it is?

I dont collect BMWs, but if i did ontop of all the ones you guys pointed out youd have to have one of those pre-war ones, just for the hell of it. I also wouldnt mind a 3.0CS or a 2002 turbo

maybe the sills from the latest m3/5/6 will fit it? I think a M6 one would be the best fit, but since no ones done it no one knows if it will actually fit

whenever i clean an engine i just use a mild degreaser left on for 10 minutes (i dont cover any wires or anything im just aware of them) then i rinse it off with a light stream of water. usually that gets the dirt of but then i use a mag and alloy polish to make it shine. You could try using an electric buffer to really make it shine, but for the black bits you should use perhaps mother's back to black or something similar. What are the black bits made of? you should run the engine for say 10 minutes or until dry, but ive never cleaned an 8 engine so it may be different.
I use black magic engine shine, i also use it on exhaust pipes (chrome) and it doesnt seem to harm them. If you rinse throuhly enough you dont need to worry about the engine exploding!!

Its nice to know theres other young 8 enthusiasts around! That should be awesome when done, i look forward to seeing it progress

That is VERY nice.... am also interested to know how you did it...
THat must be the shiniest m badge ive seen on an engine...

Very nice!!! Never seen an eight in that yellow color before. Its great that there is now an active 8 community down here All the cars are immaculate.
BTW, anyone notice how much that z3's lights look like a mazda 3's?

Hey theo,
Saw one of the 3 850CSi's today! Absoulutely fantastic!!!
-
Great to here you are back in an 8!! Couldnt resist the temptation like so many others...
I agree with theo, leave it red just make it glitter again. The interior is great, that two tone scheme and all is brilliant.
Good luck with everything

I think this is all a bit petty. Peace people.

Hey Richard,
You sold it! On good grounds of course tho. A porsche should fit Hong Kong nicely. Drop by now and then,
