Strange sound
Thank you guys. Is it difficult to fix at home. I'm not a very good mechanic.

Strange sound
I lifted the car yesterday, and the sound came from the left wheel back.
I think it's something with the brakes. Each time i rotated the wheel i heard a click.
My 1993 840 is not often in use from november to mars. I try to take a ride 1 - 3 times am month. Now, after 10-15 days in the garage a strange sound ocure when the car starts to roll. It's not there when idling.
It goes like Prrrrrrrrrrrrrr and it encreases with the speed. I try to lean out of the car to hear were it comes from, but it's difficult to locate, After 10 minutes of driving it's gone.
But in a long right turn upphil it came back a little bit.
Rust on the 8-Series has not been discussed in the forum often.
Now I see that the topic is more relevant, because our cars is getting quit old.
My opinion is that rust preventing is number one priority in the maintenance.
I may be a bit extreme in my use with the 840, but in ten years when it hopefully
still looks like new, i wan’t regret all the hours spend on cleaning.
Here is how i prefer too keep the car.
I store it from December to Mars.
Rest of the year I drive 2-3 times a week (if possible) on dry roads
I never leave it wet in the garage.
2 times a year a do a really heavy cleaning in wheel archive.
I wax it 5 times every year.
I spray crc or wd40 in all the places were rust may develop. (red circles)
Sorry for the language I’m Norwegian
Season is over and its time for a nice bath. But how many wifes/girlfriends

Tyres
I'm using the same tire combination as you, with
Dunlop Direzza DZ 101
Rear: 275/30 ZR19
Front: 245/35 ZR19
I,m very satisfied with them on my Breyton flame 8,5 and 9,5
16" - 19"
Here is the makeover from 16" to 19"
Picture 1 Orginal Bmw 16"
Picture 2 Rondell 58 17"
Picture 3 Breyton Flame 19"
Got my new set of wheels from Tirerack.com today.
Breyton flame
19x8,5 13 Offset with 245/35-19 front (only $ 189 each)
19x9,5 16 Offset with 275/30-19 back ($ 399 each)
I also got 5 mm spacers to use in front, but the guy in the the local tirestore who put on the wheels
said that i did not had to use them.
Any comments guys ??
I took a testdrive and everything seemed ok.
Compared with prices in Norway i saved 60%
Looking at new rims is always funny, and in the future i hope to buy some new 19 " rims. Many people say that compared with 17 " there are no postive effects except for the look. It,s more noisy and less comfort.
Is it any way 19 " rims can wear out suspension/steering parts on the car much faster than standard rims ? Can anyone tell me the difference in driving who has tried both 17" and 19".
Anyone who know a good website were i can add different rims on a picture of an 8-series to see how it will look ?
Sten

Anyone who knows what kind of rims this is ?
Got to be 20"" ?
