Make sure that you read a lot of articles from this and the other 8 series forums. You will learn a lot and have an idea of what you need to look for and what you desire.
If you are truly 21yrs old, I would bring your father (or another male adult that knows a few things about 8 series) with you when you are looking to buy. I do not know a single owner who would let someone of your age test drive thier car unless they knew you very well.
8's are wonderful cars but they were top-of-the-line premium cars no matter what year you look at. They were never intended to be reasonably priced or entry level cars. They were intended to be premium luxury cars. Even if you DO have a lot of experience and training with simple diagnosis and repair you can have a huge bill on your hands. Believe me, over the past 3 years I have spent over 20k USD on 'stuff' that has neded repair or replacement (with 2 cars an 850 and an 840 and today I learned I need a new AC motor ..more bills
Good luck, and I hope you have fun with what ever car you decide to purchase.I wish I had the balls to get something like this one when I was 21.
