Hi!
Thanks yes it is the 326bhp it is also a non catalytic converter version with it being a guld spec car. Maybe this gives it a few more bhp don't know to be honest. But it will soon be getting some catalytic converters fitted so it complies with the eu standards.

Hi!
Having finally got my 850 running right after changing the inlet manifold gaskets i finally decided to take it out of storage after over 6 years. Here are some pictures of the car seeing daylight for the first time after so long Just to let you guys know that dont know the history of this car its a Gulf spec car which i imported personally from the uae in late 2005 with only 58000km it is a 5.4 m73 engined verion (1997) but due to work and other commitments the car has spent all its time in the UK in storage. But hopefully now it shall see more of the road8er.org/forum/index.php?attachment/22736/8er.org/forum/index.php?attachment/22737/8er.org/forum/index.php?attachment/22738/8er.org/forum/index.php?attachment/22739/8er.org/forum/index.php?attachment/22740/8er.org/forum/index.php?attachment/22741/8er.org/forum/index.php?attachment/22742/8er.org/forum/index.php?attachment/22743/8er.org/forum/index.php?attachment/22744/8er.org/forum/index.php?attachment/22745/8er.org/forum/index.php?attachment/22746/8er.org/forum/index.php?attachment/22747/8er.org/forum/index.php?attachment/22748/8er.org/forum/index.php?attachment/22749/

Hi guys!
Finally got some good weather and some spare time to have a look at the problem on my car. The misfire is on the left bank looking at the car from the front. I ran the car on each bank individually and the right bank runs absolutely spot on but the left when cold is misfiring really bad you can actually hear popping and banging in the exhaust. When warm it is alot better however the misfire is still noticeable.
So after figuring out which side was atually misfiring i decided to swap eveyfing from the right bank on to the left bank 1 at a time to see if we get any diffrence.
1. Leads
2. Caps and Rotors
3. Coil
However after changing the above the misfire is still on the same side. When checking the injectors on the misfiring bank. Injector number 4 and 5 were not operating. So i have changed them but the ar still runs the same. The car seems to idle very low also im finking maybe its the intake gasket down on that side.
What you think guys? -

What's the VIN, please? May be able to get it to the States, if shipping and regulatory costs don't sink it. Have to see the build sheet to know.

Hi guys!
I own a bmw 850 ci 1997 gulf specification car with only 57000 km it has tthe m73 engine and full m sport kit the car is totally standard from factory. As im sure most of you are aware from some of my earlier posts it has been in the uk nearly 6 years now and has spend 95% of its time parked away as i dont have much time to drive it. On my last post i had wrote about the multiple misfire that the car had developed and got alot of feedback (thanks) but due to not having time and other commitments i havent had a chance to check to see what the problem is. Now that i am working out here in the middle east and the car is in the U.K. i really dont know what to do with her. Its a real shame seeing such a beautiful car jus sitting around and not getting no use at all.
what kind of money would i be looking to get for a car that has only done 57000 km? with the multiple misfire? Any help would be appreciated. Soon i will be arranging for some garage in the uk to carry out all the work on the car that needs to be done but thaught to see what kind of money i would be looking to get for her?
thanks

WOW reinhard!
This brings back memories seeing the individual. I still remember the day you came to the uk to purchase this off my father back in 2004, even though it seems like yesterday
So happy to see pictures of her after so long. Still think about this awesome machine all the time. Good to see it is still alive and well and hope it stays this way for many many years to come.
Take care

Don't forget the mis-fire sensor on lead 6 of each bank.
I guess this is working, though, if it's registering a mis-fire.
Complete oem lead sets were available directly from Beru - maybe they still are - for about half dealer cost.
Gerry can provide up-rated leads and coils, but I believe he mentioned some time ago that the lead-sensors were no longer available,
The OEM system uses copper-wire leads with a resistor in each plug, giving 5.7 kOhm end-to-end. The magnecors use a thin coiled internal wire which itself has about 3 kOms per meter resitance, and no plug resistors. The suppression characteristics may therefore be different.Ive uploaded some pictures for you guys been busy over the weekend havent had a chance to change cap and rotors but will do next couple of days.

Hello, firstly congratulations on having a Platinum Edition - very nice!
Ref leads, I got mine from Gerry at Phoenix Motorsport (user 8tech on this board), it's worth giving him a call to see if he can help you, even if he can't help you directly he'll definitely be able to give you some recommendations.

Hi.
I own a 1997 850cia 5.4 litre. It is a gulf spec vehicle which was imported to the uk a few years ago. It has only done 57000km.
The problem is it has a intermittent misfire. The misfire is mainly at idle and at times its very noticable and sometimes very slight.
It also looses power when it has the misfire when you put power on while driving the car does nothing for a few seconds and then suddenly it comes to life.
It is using alot more fuel then it normally would and you can actually smell unburnt fuel along with popping noise coming out of the exhaust.
I have changed a few things like the ignition coils and spark plugs but still no joy. When plugged in on the diagnostics machine all it comes back with is multiple misfire.
Anybody have any ideas of what could be causing this any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
