  • Rear Window Replacement

    Not that i suppose it helps, but i had mine replaced last year under the extended warrenty by the main dealer,
    it was covered because the rear heating element packed-up so was covered as an electrical fault,
    just a thought if any of you cars are still under warranty

  • Brake Pads

    i just replaced my front disks and pads, i just went and bought originals from the main dealer, not that i let them fit them... but the old ones were brilliant after thousands of miles, and i can't fault them.

    that right just small letters on the back of the claiper, sorry i should have been more specific i was just supprised to see the word brembo on my brake.

    I've been looking a lot at my wheels this week as i'm going to replace them and noticed that on the front calipers there is a brembo logo embossed into the metal


    Did all eight have brembo calipers up front ? there seem to be a total of 4 pots 2 per side of the caliper. is this standard?

    Looks like the tyre change will be needed then , My 17" BBS Split rims need refurbishing and new tyres so i think the 7 series might be the good option.


    is the change up form 17 to 18 going to make a big difference in ride? my car is already quite stiff ah is has the M-Tech suspension upgrade.

  • Wheels will they fit

    I am think of buying a 2001 728 with m parallel wheels just to get the alloys, does anyone know if they will fit on my 1994 840Ci ?


    can anyone who has the orignal M Parrallels on the car send me the part numbers / sizes for the front and rear alloys.

  • alloy wheel fitment

    i currently have the original split rim alloys on my car but they are starting to corrode. so need to be refurbished. so i am looking at replacing the alloys. 235 45 17 on the front and 265 40 17 on the back.


    question for everyone will a set of m parallels from a 7 seven series fit directly on to the car.. i don't really want spacers or anything like that


    or can any one recomend a good place to have them redone this would be the second time the previous owner had them done. how many times can an alloy be re diamond cut ?

  • Front, Rear bushes , steering etc

    I just had the entire underside done last week all lower arms and bushes with all genuine parts from my local specialist, just over 1300 including VAT. i thought that was a lot but it seems to be a bargin from what i see here.

  • 840 rough idling

    My 840 with M60 is a little rough too, but the dealer says the v8s arn't super smooth...


    i have always had straight 6 bmws before which are so smooth there is no evidence the engine is running when your idle.


    i think thats just how they are.

  • Dash board bulbs

    i took the 2 middle air vents out from the middle of the dasboard so that i could change the blub that lights up the vent controls. so far so good


    the problem is that after removing the bulb i lost it. arhgh


    does any one know the style/model number of the bulb. and what wattage it should be ?

  • Boot Spoiler

    I am trying to refit my boot spoiler, its the original BMW one that came fitted to the car, (my car has the csi front and rear bumper and spoilers)


    one of the original bolts rusted away and i want to reaplace all of them.


    does any one know what size the orginal bolts are / the bmw part number so i can order some replacements?


    I also need some rubber pads to go between the spoiler and the boot lid the stick foam that was used orignally has gone hard.


    I look for the part numbers on TIS and it seems i have to buy a new spoiler.

    Thanks, right now i just need some warm weather so that i can do a simple badge swap. I tried today but the glue so so hard the floss broke.

    I have an M badge on the back of my 840ci, that's how i got the car, i am thinking of removing it. I have bought the 840Ci badge to replace it.


    the car does have M-Tech suspension and Mtech steering wheel but i don't think that make it an M-Car.


    whats the best way to remove a badge? and does any one know where BMW place ther badges i.e. how far down and accross on the boot lid?

    I am in the UK


    I'm based near Reading i have seen a few 8's i think i saw PJB one night on the M4 a few months ago when i was comming back from bristol.


    There are a few around hear a couple of estoril blue one and a yellow one. I probbaly only ever see another 8 once every couple of months
