Waow,
$ 800 that's high.
Too bad it didn't work out for you.
I am sure you will figure out another way to modify your front end. In the mean time, enjoy driving your 8. Spring is just about to start .

my car
John,
Yes, unfortunately that's what I had to do. It takes some time but I am happy with the result.
My car
John,
I bought the exact same spoiler as the one on eBay (Argonaut information). It was also too low for me . I cut the lower part off and made it the way I wanted.

Hi John,
I am glad you like it.
I bought the front spoiler directly from Hamman.... some 10 years ago!!!
I have had this car for about 13 years now. And I still love it like if it was the first day I drove it.
wheel size
Hi,
I am glad you like it, thank you.
The wheels are 19" X 9" in the front and 19" X 11" in the rear (rear rims not available on the market in these dimentions).
The tires are 245/35 in the front and 295/30 in the back on these pictures. Since then, I have changed the rear tire's size to 295/35. I think it it fills the space even better. I will post some new pictures this spring. The only problem with this configuration is that I have to drive with the ASC off (it detects a wheel spinning difference and cuts engine power. It doesn't bother me since I never liked to drive with the ASC on.)
The car has the complete Alpina suspension kit.

Hi Martin,
Congratulation, your red 850 looks great. Great job as usual!

Tire size
I have got some BFGoodrich G-Force on right now. I don't think the tire has much to do with it since I hade some Pirelli's before and it worked out fine.
Take your wheels off and look where it is rubbing. You should be able to see it pretty easely. Once you know if it is on the inner or the outer part then see if you can fix it with spacers for exemple.
I hope it works out for you.
Tire size
Hi Argonaut,
I had some 295/30/19 on my car and no rubbing at all. Lat year I changed them for some 295/35/19 and still no sign of rubbing. My rims are bit over 11" wide. There is definitely enough space for some 295s. By the way, the body is completely original.
I guess it depends what kind of rims you have. You can always buy some spacers if the tire rubs the inside part. It the rubbing takes place on the outside...then you don't have much choice.
Hope this helps.

Hi Dragon850,
Thank you for the info and have a nice spring / summer with you 850.

HID
Hi Argonaut
Well I would be interested in reading a summed up translation of this post. I also have HID on my car and I would like to know what they are talking about (only the main points and only if you have time of course).
Thanks

New interior
Waow
It looks great. Much better than original. I like the blue you choose. It goes well with your paint. Concerning the arm rest I would also suggest the same color as the seats.
Your car looks like it's brand new out of the factory!
Becker Cascade
Hi
Anybody installed the Becker Cascade unit in it's 8 ? What is your opinion?
http://www.mybecker.com/enDE/C…ascade+7944-Overview.html
http://www.mybecker.com/enDE/C…de+Pro+7941-Overview.html
And clearly, what can one do with the 7941 Pro and it's "SIM ACCESS PROFILE" that the 7944 cannot do without it? They both have the Bluetooth technology !
I read that one can choose different phone tones with the 7941 Pro, OK. Is transferring datas from the mobile phone to the address book of the 7944 also possible ? (more difficult ?)
I probably won't use the "W@P" system wihch is only on the 7941 Pro and the only other difference I found was the "SIM ACCESS PROFILE". Can anybody clear me up on this one.
Thanks for your opinion / experience.
Mike
High beam bulb replacement
Hi Noggie
I changed mine a couple of months ago and do not recall running into any problem. If I remember correctly, turn the cover to the left and pull it out. I am not sure if we have the same head lights but you can always look into your owner's manual. There is a picture of it and explanation.
Michael
Thank you
Hi guys
Thank you for your kind words.
The supercharger's brand is Vortech. Since there is no kit available on the maket for the 850, I had it installed by some compressor specialist in Buttwil. The company's name is Novidem. They have been installing compressors for the past 20 years on all kinds of cars and they are very professional.
Sorry, I don't know the power output since I havn't had a chance to test the car on a bench.
The headers come from a company which is no longer in business. They hand made stainless steel headers and complete exhaust for just about any car. Their name was Tezet in Bülach.
It would be a great pleasure to meet Jason. Let me know when is a good time for you. Send me a PM and we can fix a date.
Bye
Michael
Dear friend
I finally took some time and made an album. For those interested, please feel free to check out some pictures of my car : click on my nickname, select "View Public Profile" and under Albums, click on "My BMW 850i".
Here is a small taste of what you will see in my Album :
Enjoy !

Led tail lights
Hi
I was thinking about doing the same (LEDs in rear tail lights). The only problem I could not figure out is how to make our tail light glass clear. It has to be clear in order to show the LED arrangement behind it. If left original the LED effect will not be as expected.
Any idea ?
Michael

AC Schnitzer rear spoiler
Hi Alan
Did you make a decision yet? If you still have your rear spoiler, I would be interested in buying it from you.
Let me know.
Thanks
