They look great, I didnt think they would look that good. I think I will have
to invest in a set. The side lights do spoil it a little, post some pics when you
get the new bulbs. Well done. -
If I were you id keep an eye on ebay, there are loads of parts that should
be much cheaper than the dealers. -
Hi Wayne, I think your seats look great, im going to try and
get mine done shortly but I dont know of any companies in
Ireland that specialise in that sort of thing. I had to get my
alloys refurbished in Northern Ireland because nobody had a
clue how to do them in the South, they have to be taken apart
cost me 800 pounds. Well worth it I think. -
Yea, there actually the original set, im getting your ones
refurbished at the moment. Yea his prices seem a bit steep alright.
Shame to see a whole car broken up like that just because it cant be
sold. -
If anyone is interested in 2nd hand parts there is a guy breaking his
whole car and selling it on ebay. The car was actually fine but the high mileage was the reason he couldnt sell it, lots of good stuff. Here is the link: -
Yea its defo not a real one, when you put the reg no. into the HPI check homepage it shows up as a 850i auto. A real Alpina is always registered as an Alpina.
Id say its a conversion and the owner has stuck on the badges and plate. The second link below shows what a real one should look like....nice!https://www.hpicheck.com/consumer/?supplier=&vrm=K993JAU

Interior Lights
Hi Mike
Finally got around to trying to find that relay, I pulled the carpet up and removed the speaker but couldnt find any relay. I think the 840 must have it in a different place, anyone any ideas ?
Eoin.
-
Nope, I wish it was that simple. Everything else works, its just the interior lights.
-
I have checked fuse and relay, both seem fine. I have no idea what it could be, its driving me nuts as I park in an underground carpark and need interior lights !
-
Hi, my interior lights (map lights, main light and back seat lights) are not working, the lights behind the sun visors are fine. Checked fuses all are fine. Any ideas ?
-
Thanks Theo,
I know of a place in the UK which repair steering boxes so il give them a try, they are only quoting me £150 so thats not too bad.

Hi, Ive been told I need a new steering box as oil is pouring out of it. Its a 94 840ci. BMW want over €1600 for a reconditioned one, does anybody know if one from an 850i would work as I have seen a few been dismantled. Has anyone had their own steering box reconditioned ?
Many thanks. -
Hi everybody,
My 840ci ASC light never comes on (even when ignition lights are on)
I cannot turn it off as the switch does not react at all, any ideas ?I am also in the process of ordering a new key. It has two buttons, I have tried replacing the battery to no avail, when I get the new key does it have to be programmed in ? (garage is charging Eur 120 for a new key)
Many thanks

I cant seem to find these screws, are they on the rail itself or on the seat ?

I did something very stupid today, I was trying to fix my drivers seat as it was twisting due to one of the cables shortening at the motor, but I ended up disconnecting the cable from the motor under the seat instead of the motor at the front (very stupid I know ) now I cannot put the wire back in and I cant take the seat out as it was fully forward at the time and its covering the front bolts. Does anybody know if there is a manual overide for the slide front - back mechanism ? any help would be most appreciated. Thanks
