Hello!
I have a strange problem with my 850i-92.
The car always starts when engine is cold. But sometimes when i have been driving and i turn off the engine for about 5-10 minutes it won`t start again. i just hear a click when i turn the key.
I thouht it was the starter, so i replaced it, but to no avail.I have also noticed that this phenomena only occurs when i have been driving with the automatic gerabox in sport mode. Never in economy mode.
Could it be that the starter somehow gets a "heat-chock" or something, since it`s located so close to the exhaust? Because when i open the hood and let it cool off for about 5-10 minutes it starts without any hesitation.Anyone had the same experience?
I only drive the car during summertime and it`s been really hot here in Stockholm this summer!Regards Micke

Check out Eisenmanns systems, they are supposed to be one of the best. I have ordered a pair for my 850, but havent recieved them yet.

Hello!
I need to replace my stock exhaust(catback). I am interested in a German exhaust called Eisenmann. Has anybody got any experience from their products?Regards Micke

Hi!
Has anyone upgraded their E31 with a German Digi-Tec chip?I talked to them today and they claim that i will get a 25-27 BHP gain on my 850i-92 . They also claim that their upgrades are dyno-tested in Germany.
Do you have experience with Digi-Tec?

No i dont really need to change the exhaust system. Its nothing wrong with it. I just want better flow and better response.

Cats with better flow
I envy you guys! We cant do that in Sweden, so i was thinking Cats with a less restrictive flow. For example Race-Cats. Do you guys out there think there would be a noticable difference? And oh...I am planning on exchange my exhaust to a cat-back sustem, or at least change the rear muffler to ones that are less restrictive.
What do you think? Would these mods be the time and money?
Cheers Micke

19 inch Hartge´s will look very good. My 17 inch are a bit too small. I am looking at Rial Daytonas (19 inch), They are quite cheap here in Sweden, and they look a little bit like BBS Le Mans, wich are NOT cheap in Sweden!

Thanks Hallworth1, that was valuable news! I have been thinking of replacing the exhaust as well. Do you have any recommendations for a good Cat-back system that is reasonably quiet? I was also thinking about replacing the Cats with Racecats.
Steve: The Hartges are 17 inches -
Hello 850 owners of Great Britain!
Sorry to intrude, im from the Swedish "chapter", not much action there i´m afraid, so i hope its o.k to bother you with a quiestion?
I´m thinking of installing a chip in my 850 auto -92. I have read about a chip made by a fellow named Jim Conforti, he is some sort of BMW Chip /Electronics guru in the U.S. Have you heard of this chip, or do you have any othe suggestions regarding what chip to by?Cheers!

Im in the same boat!
Hi!
I´m also thinking of buying the Conforti Chips. I also have a automatic 850. Mine is a -92. I have read about the chips on various speedshops websites. But i would like to know if anyone here have any personal experience of Conforti Chips?
I guess i have to buy mine from the States, or does anyone know if its possible to buy them from any dealer in Europe?Regards Micke
