I would generally never use kwik fit…..i hate them with a passion. My a/c had stopped working (compressor not engaging) all I wanted was a diagnostic on the system. After their machine had been hooked up for 40 minutes they said all was ok and just needed re-gassing and there were no leaks. As you said 8tech they obviously know nothing about it.

Exactly the same issue here took the car to good old kwik fit and it lasted around 3 weeks, like you they reported no leaks. I have an air-con man that I use the trouble with them is they are often too quick blaming a faulty condenser. Having the system checked next week, will let you know how I get on.

Tell me about it! After the discount it still came to over £50 plus the vat. I have the old one from my car which is missing the lugs that connect it to the bumper .....it could be repaired ....yours if you want it.

Just noticed there is a guy on e-bay selling wheels.....if you look down the ad he has a full set of throwing stars with tyres. He is in Lanarkshire which may be handy for you since your pictures look very like Greenock.

Dare I ask how much the light unit was?

Think you have covered it all, the front air duct that connects from the front grills to the radiator was the biggest pain especially to refit. its really a 2 man job to put back together. I would suggest using new plastic clips when refitting. Mine got a bit mangled on removal.

I had the 8 and the x3 done for £100. Its so clever how they do them. A tool is put down the side of the door and a glass protector used so there is no need to remove the door panel. You should have a look at u tube on how its done facinating stuff. The difference it has made to the 8 is amazing.

I have spent the past few weeks tidying up a few things. New windscreen fitted as the old one was chippy, front end and mirrors removed and repainted, new towing eye cover (cant believe it was £51.00 plus vat) new lower rubber spoiler and wheels stripped and repainted. I also had the dent man remove a couple of dings that were in the doors that drove me nuts. All in all I am very happy with the end result.

Yes I have done mine….the front ones are expensive. the bush is quite a heavy thing (although not £100 worth). You just need to take care when fitting the bush into the arm that is in the right position, there is a marking if I remember correctly. You could try eurocarparts.com they do them but didnt have them in stock when i was doing mine.

Sandwich…..Did they quote you for the sensor? I need one haven't managed to find the part number and am loathed to take it to the stealer.
Ps…….don’t think it was a knee that fuc*ed mine more like my wife who is pregnant….she is now barred from getting in the car.

I bought the reset tool, it was cheaper than a visit to the stealer. You can get one from euro car parts, it will cost you around £100.00 or alternatively good old e-bay. Mine reset without any problems. However it is back on again and wont reset so I will have to either borrow or buy the srs diagnostic tool…….im sure it’s a fault within the passenger seat, my wife always adjusts it every time she gets in the car, which does my head in …..last couple of times she has done this the srs light has come on.

Hi guys
I have a light out on the instrument cluster no.14 which lights part of the lcd module illumination. Could I just confirm that those bulbs can be replaced
-
How do the brakes feel Tony, do they have more bite than the oem one's?
-
Cheers Tony I got the PM thanks
-
Tony could I ask a similar question as Michael's, what bulbs were the one's to go for and did they require modifying or resistors?
Thanks

I was nearly getting the hose out to siphon the tank after putting £70 worth at TESCO on Tuesday night. I always use the super unleaded I don’t think there has been an issue with that. car seems to be ok (Phew)
