Terje, that's the one I also used before but now I bought the one in my link. These two are not compatible as the one is analog the other is digital.
We should then agree before we drive which one we use.
I would prefer the digital one as it does not require the big Antennae and as I know the Swiss group will use this one.
It would be also possible that someone use both, and relays important information to the other group.

    Hi Egil!

Christoph & Martin did some extensive testing with Radios and Antennas. (German)
Since then, many of us bought the Intek MT5050 Radio so I guess this is the most used one here. (Beside the old analogue Radios)
This Radio allows some customization to overcome the limits set by legal requirements.
Some of the necessary modifications can be done quickly, some require more effort. (Changing the antenna foot for example).
As in Germany the EXport Model of this Radio (in which the modifications are already done) is not available, I ordered mine in Italy.
    Here is the Link

Some of us here bought their Radio from the same source and as I heard everyone got theirs quickly and without any problem.
I can't remember how long it took to get mine but it came with a parcel service and not with standard post.
There is still a week left so maybe it would be there in time if you order.

    Cheers

Terje, is it correct that the toll for the road usage in Norway is collected automatically, based on the license plate? (except for Atlanterhavsvegen and Svinesundforbindelsen E6).
So except for that two roads, one does not have to stop to pay the fees?

    I had an E34 530 with that small V8.
Although the car was great, the engine itself was not up to the job.
Coupled to an automatic transmission, it had it's problems with the 1.6 tons of the car.
It's peaky torque curve caused a pause when one has tried to accelerate.
After this car, I bought a E34 540 with the 4 liter V8. It was much livelier, faster and actually had less fuel consumption.

So I don't think anyone would have any fun driving a nearly 2 ton 830i...

Adaptation will take over as soon as the values From MAF are no longer plausible.
It's strange that it died the first time and not the second.
In my cases it stalled repeatedly when the MAF was faulty.
As I said, it's not a really reliable test method...
Hopefully the Error Memory will tell something more meaningful.

    Cheers,
    Steve

One way to test the MAF is to pull it's connector off while the engine is running.
If the engine stalls, the MAF is defect. If the revs go down and then stabilize again, it's working.
(Then the engine is using hardcoded values instead of the measured air amount.)
It's surely not an "official" test method and I don't know why a malfunctioning MAF won't let the engine use the predefined values but this test worked on different V8's I have tried and a replacement MAF cured the problems.
As I say, it's not a foolproof test but worth a try.
    Good luck!

    Thanks Steve
That's excellent :top: , well I am pretty sure they will end up like this
Just wondering is this the same red as the car or a bit darker , also looking at the BMW picture a few post's earlier they seems to be a bit darker than the car.
My thinking is that a bit darker red would look better, car is painted with 314 Hellrot.

    Terje

    Hi Terje!

It is somewhat darker but it's because I had to put some shadows and highlights back on the stars after I colored them.
It looks very dull and flat if only the color is changed:

Color is a very tricky beast anyway. It`s nigh on impossible to capture and display it the way we (humans) perceive it.
Many years ago (when I was working as a computer animator) our biggest nightmare have been company logos with dedicated colors which had to look the same on TV as on the printed box of the Product.
So, in my opinion there is no way to exactly reproduce how it will look when the stars are painted. (Not with my modest computer machinery here.)

If I would not be sure if I should go this way, I would buy a used and ruined star (like heavily corroded) for small money and paint it in the real color by hand.
That way I would be able to experiment with different colors and it would not matter if the paint quality was bad. (The stars are the same on E31 and E34, so there are many ruined ones around...)
If you find an photo on a sunny day, we can try another one where I would try to work in my polished rims as well. (I don't know how well that will work out tough...:hmmmm:)

    Cheers,
    Steve
