Happy New year!
rcrad6653, Thanks for the info!
Marv,
Zitat von martinwThanks for the info on Jim's 3.45 ...
Can see the need for a modified unit with 500hp ....
The ratio itself (3.45) or something in that range is still a possibility with my standard 380hp.
Still got this unanswered problem with the CSi diff cooling system, and compatability (tappings for the inlet/outlet pipes) to diffs from other cars.
As other 8s seem to manage ok without the cooling system, if I can't get over this problem, suppose I could just disconnect the cooling system, cap it off and leave it in place for reconnection if I want to reinstall the standard diff ? (or remove the whole cooling system, but keep for later re-installation).
Please repair and keep that cooling unit, I want to ad it so bad to my cars this summer, I've been asking around specifically to CSi owners and they say the 3.15 and the 3.25 is a awesome set up for your car, The 3.45 is the hottest set up if you don't mind a little more shifting! 1st gear is useable and Your 6th gear would be at 3000Rpm's at 80Mph! Here's some reading from users who have done it already below, You are on the right path, Just depends on the amount of shifting you wanna do. There's a lot of info at the link below if you do a search from experienced diff changers in US and Euro CSi's.
Martinw, Keep in mind that Jim has almost 500Hp to push those gears.
The newer wheel does come with a slip ring, You will need the plugs from the newer ring or you can make your own, The volume buttons were installed into my alpine IVA-D900 radio from a local stereo shop, Took them 5 minutes once they had my radio opened, Cost was $40.00 US for the wiring, The slip ring is also availabe at the dealer but it pops up on ebay alot also.
Marv,
Try raising the windows with the key in the door lock, See if it fixes itself.
I had to make my original slip ring fit the wheel, That was it!
Hi Steve! It's on my 1991 and 92.
It came out of a E46, You can also find it in some of the Z models.
Marv,
Re: I have an M5 3:45 in my six speed with a quaffe 100% loc
Zitat von jdgavritythe :345 was the right fit for me

I believe these are Jims Gear ratios, 3:45 for his LSD.
You should be fine with just the 2 rears, A fancy Strut brace does nicely for the front as added protection.
There expensive everywhere!

Here's a picture of my wheel, Which is wired to my ipod and a alpine iva-d900 to control the volume and fast forward to the next song, I didn't use all the MF's so far, I'm replacing this wheel soon with a Carbon fiber one which looks the same.
I countersunk the holes in my plates and it made a perfect fit. It only took 5 minutes with a drill.
Sorry, These have been paid for, I was told payment was sent and it was running behind, That's why i sorta offered them, My apoligies!
Marv,
30 Minute to 1 hours job, You do this mod and it will be hard to get the smile off your face!
I'm also a swithcer 2 years ago, Wokke's are unbeliveable in a auto with 3:91 LSD!
