ZitatAs we are talking about window deterioration, have any of you noticed a fine "granulation" on the front screen, when the sun is shining right at you?
one explanation may be- if you (or the car ) lives by the coast, sand blasting, wind driven 'particles' - I had it on my old 5 series.
Zitat von wayneblackwell1000;56821Nice one Nick, if I were you I would get a full KDS
Wayne, what is a full KDS
ZitatBTW have you reverted back to your original wheels?
It's an old pic from last year, It was the only picture I had which shows the difference in front camber.
I'm going to a site at Wheal Northey on Monday, but we'll have to catch up, I'd like to see your new blue machine
Lloyd, yes I did it at home with average basic tools.
Having never removed the struts before, the drivers side took around five evenings, only because I wasn't sure how everything came apart and didn't want to cause any damage etc.
The passenger side took 3 hours, ended up replacing a few "self damaged" ball joints along the way, and some of the strut nuts were very set in their ways
All in all an easy enough job - now I know how to do it !!
Finally got around to installing the front camber plates.... just thought I'd share before and after pics. The front is now 6mm higher but looks more aggressive, and from the initial drive very responsive. Just need to get the tracking reset for a full report.
Steve,
Nice to see you've still got the 8 bug, I'm down your way on Monday. I might just pop in
Make sure the kettles on...

indeed Fabrice - may the 8 be with you... no other car comes between
LONG LIVE THE 8
good call schnitz - but a 20 mile flood...
Finally got around to it and installed the wokke chip in a replacement DME. It wouldn't work in my original unit ... still don't know why, exact same unit numbers (Bosch 0261 200 404) but from an E32.
Fired up first time, no road test yet but sounds and runs alot smoother.
Many thanks for your help Wokke

Anybody had any dealings with Mr Wokke ??
I purchased a chip from wokke - £100 or so down and after a dead car for a week, here's my response:-
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors…iewItem&item=320252941952
" I carefully installed the chip in the DME on my 1994 840 as per the instructions show on your site - Trans failsafe prog appeared on the OBC, the engine turned over but did not fire, I disconnected the batteries over night and tried again the next day, still nothing.
I had the car taken to the bmw specialist who had worked on my car previously and his fault diagnostic equipment could not connect to any systems? I replaced the original chip and the engine fired and ran smooth?
I either have the wrong chip stamped 0 261 200 404 - A (which matches the numbers on my DME) or the chip is faulty.
please advise on your returns procedure or forward a replacement chip and I will return the one I have to you. "
Either he's on a holiday since the beginning of May or i've been had...... had nothing back, any suggestions??
yours
not impressed

ZitatThe moment I put my foot on the clutch the noise goes away
if its more of a rattle - from previous experience (vw backgrounds) sounds more like the spigot bearing has not been replaced or not aligned correctly, no major damage will occur just an annoying noise - as mentioned earlier, micky mouse fitters.
Looks like a minature ironing board - or perhaps its Noggie's new cat scratching post
I had a blow out on the M5 at 100 mph (sorry 70mph officer) and need to replace the rear offside - had quotes for 275x30x19, cheap and plentiful enough, but to I want to upgrade to 285 on the rears (tyre seems stretched over the rim for 275 and the offset will only cope with a couple of millimeters before rubbing time)
seems theres only one supplier in the country at the moment 'Bridgestone potenza' who can supply in days rather than months for 285x30x19
......bugger, when you need tires you NEED tires.

Steve,
Shame you didn't mention your roof racks last month, you would had have a majority share on my car
for reference - if anyone fancies Steve's roof bars.
