Looking at the car yeaterday the scratch marks from poorly maintained wiper blades was very visable. So my question is has anyone removed theirs using a kit etc or had it done professionally.?

Well I tracked down the problem it was the amplifier fuse number 36 in the boot. A quick replacement and we are back working.

Quick question..
I removed my center consul today as the two top screws that hold the ac unit in place were not tight enough so it tilted when pushed. This meant taking the radio etc all out . All back together but the radio is not working and I checked fuse 18 . Everything else works so any quick tips?

As the title suggest my driver seat is twisting when asked to raise. I believe its a common problem so can someone point me in the direction of a repair process.

Here you go. Made in Nov 1997 and registered in Jan 1998 88k with full service history. Only 2 owners and the interior is like new still
So far since arriving I have put a new dealer supplied CSI front spoiler on her as the original one was cracked.
New Auxiliary fan and re gas
New expansion tank (so i know its safe)
Lots of missing clips and new screws.
Full machine polish and ceramic coating.
Plus other bits and pieces.
It's great to have an 8 again

Nick I bought all new brackets to clip the pipes into as a couple of the centre screw were broken. Other than that it went just fine on the 4 poster. As for another 8 its not if its when most days I look at the for sale ad's. There are some nice 840's out there but like you say a CSI is the answer. I would love a barn find etc. I plan to have a double garage build at Easter at my new house then I will start to look. I have the BMW magazine in my office with the 8 series special (and me and my car) in it. Man she was lovely looking albeit high mileage so next time I fancy a young model with less miles on the clock....I am still talking about a car you understand....

Nick (hello everyone else) I changed my fuel lines on my old 850 and fuel filter and given at the time I was using a ramp at work it was an easy job and very rewarding when you see the shiny replacements in place. I think I had a thread detailing it and some welding I did at the time to under the sill covers!

Cheers Guys its a relief one way and another. I am just trying to decided if I should sell all the spares I have in the shedd which is quite a lot from lights to wheels (throwing stars) to jacking pads to trim (central air vent, center consul, switch plates, switches) and bits and bobs. Maybe I will have a look during the break?

What does the future hold!
Well men what a week, the car finally went on Wednesday night to a gentleman from Cheshire (he drove it back) that said I think its already been sold on as when filling ou the paperwork he said he was a motor trader. I would like to think he is keeping it but hey ho I got the money I needed. However on the job front its been a busy couple of weeks as i had applied for 3 jobs been interviewed for all three (2 x two day interviews and 1 x 4day intereview!!) and managed to be offered all three!
So the truth is I could have kept her!!!! Anyway the new year brings a new job and the search begins.......................................................! -
