Phonecradle

I wonder if anyone had any suggestions on mounting a phone cradle.
Ideally I would like it just left of the centre console, close to my left knee, this would allow me to connect my phone (HTC One X) to the USB cable from my stereo.
I know there is a brodit proclip especially made for the 8 which allows this but does anyone have any other ideas?
