I'm rebuild the rear suspension of my 1999 840. I managed to get one of the eccentric bolts out after three days of soaking in penetrating oil. The other will not move - it has fused with the inner core of the bearing. My only option is to cut it out, but as we all know, these bolts are NLA! Following assistance from Reinhard (thanks again), I have purchased the following:
33.30.3.784.983 Eccentric Bolt. £6.59 + VAT each
33.30.3.786.187 Eccentric Washer. £2.09 + VAT each
33.30.6.760.349 Hex Nut. £1.88 + VAT each
You can see the new parts compared to the original in the photo's. The new bolt is longer but I don't think this will matter, however the eccentric washer and bolt head are 33 mm in diameter and the original is 32mm. As these parts slot inside a "cradle" welded onto the rear subframe, I am going to have to find a way of reducing the diameter by 1mm. Apart from good old filing, I'm not sure how to do this - there are no machine shops near me that have shown any interest.
The amount of problems this has caused, simply because the original bolts had not been greased. I recommend that at every service you take out those bolts and give them a good greasing!
