Front hub shaft wheel bearing dust cap need help

I've recently tried to change the front wheel bearing on removing it I discovered the dust cap on the hub shaft was badly corroded , I ordered a new one from bmw but it doesn't fit over rear of the shaft . Bmw recon the hub has been changed and that's why the cap won't fit has any one else had this problem and know the correct part number
