AHK faliure

    I have a electrical faliure in my AHK system
    Which I have located to a small variable resistor
    mounted inside the hydraulic steering unit.
    Which is not a spare part, BMW tells me i need to buy the whole hydraulic steering unit, cost over 6000EURO VERY EXPENSIVE.
    The problem is that the resistor is not of a standard type, so I can not buy a standard one cost ca:0,5EURO.
    I am pretty sure that some where in the BMW factory lies a box full of these resistors. that frustrates me.
    I solved the problem so far by pulling out the fuse to the AHK system.
    Then I don´t get error messages at least.

    If you can get the spec of the resister; you may find that you can get one from elsewhere for peanuts. Variable resisters are not space technology. Tough one though. Good luck. Hope you get it sorted.
