New baby in the garage.. '95 850 CiA

  • Hey, newguy here. My name is Adrian, I live in Oslo/Tønsberg in Norway and i'm a former owner of a black '04 XC70 and current owner of a Survivor-badged '68 DeVille Convertible. I've had my eye on the E31 for a long time, and finally got around to picking it up :)

    Some pics from the ad:

Those with a keen eye and good memory might remember it, it's Trono's little baby :-), came over an old ad by accident and totally fell in love. The car is in tip-top shape! Airbag-light is still on, got to get around and fix that. Engine-wise it's strong, the Wokke-chipped V12 is working well:

    ..ignore the annoying radio

I'm looking forward to participating here on this great forum, and with this great car! God, i love the sound of that V12 so much  :driver:

Nice Video ,do not recomend all coming to the meeting in June driving like this :harhar: on Norwegian roads.

Started the modifications on it already ?
Looking forward to see the progress on this one.

Pretty sure we will see Trono again here with a new car in a couple of years ( I bet he's back within 12 mnd )

    Welcome to the Pleasure dome!

Thanks! I believe i will like it here, seems like a nice crowd of enthusiasts. As for the meeting in June, a one-per-year-party with people from my high-school is planned from saturday on the same weekend, and it's a 4 hour drive from where we are in Stavanger. I don't know yet, but i'll try to make it!

  • Why lower it? I can barely get it over speedbumps as it is now :p And the EDC shocks were changed in 05/06, won't do anything to the suspension until they wear out.

  • Welcome Adrian, you will find much support and assistance here - a wealth of expertise and technical information. Your car looks superb - I always fancied a CSi but could not afford one - and the roads in Norway are spectacular - the last time I drove there was in a Triumph Spitfire back in 1977!

  • Wash and polish!

Not that many pictures, but i put her away at a daycare center to be properly cleaned:

They weren't finished when we came back, so we waited there for a while:

    Resultat:

We used this chance to install the EML chip that was lying around in the trunk. Previous owner took it out (the two motronic chips is still in, the EML chip controls throttle response - puts it in Sport even when the transmission is in Adaptive.) With a roadtrip and the ringmeet in mind, the removed top speed limiter (250 km/h) weighed heavier than the very sensitive gas pedal :)

Also tested out the new Contour+ on a trip to sweden, relax and enjoy the music ;)

  • I disagree. I love the look of the tinted ones, but i won't bother to tint new ones if i have to change them out for some reason.

As for the wheels, they are gorgeous. But a pain to live with. The material is way too soft, i had to straghten them two times on this summers roadtrip.
