• I would like to install a clutch stopper on my car.

Can anyone give me a bolt number, and instruction on how to do that on my own? I know where it has to be installed, I saw the hole.

    thx

  • Try this number- it is for the throttle stop under the acelerator pedal.
    35 41 1 159 345 and add the lock nut too.

Most manufacturers try to keep many of the bolts in an area the same to keep down inventory.

The cheap way would be to just go to the closest shop with fasteners and get an 8mm coarse thread bolt about 70 mm long and an a nut. pick up a fine threaded one too while you are there. Pull the little plastic plug out and thread the bolt in. Adjust to suit.

Remember that the clutch must be disengaged completely when the pedal is against the bolt or the clutch will wear out much too soon. So you may have to get a shorter bolt.

It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others. Mine sometimes feels that way.

  • If you are sitting stopped on level ground with everything warmed up from driving.

Push the clutch to the stop and put the car in first gear.

The car should not try to move when you rev the motor up to 2 or 3 thousand RPM with the clutch held down on the stop. You should get no smell of hot clutch. No unusual noises from underneath.

  • A post/bolt/stop that limits clutch over travel when you are shifting.
