3.91 diff question

I do believe that the cases are smaller on the 735. Cover Bolt pattern is different, mounts are different and the gears are a smaller size. (I have a 3.64 ls from a '90 735 in the garage to prove my folly )

Something like '91 and up 750 works as well as E34 M5 cases.

I also seem to remember that the E34 M5 was the only 3.91 that fits.

It is really too bad that the 735 diffs don't fit. I think that a 4.10 was available in Europe.

i've got an 850i 6 speed 91 model (original 2.93). I confirm that it's possible to put on a 3.91 from an m5 E34. Result is so funy!

Hi there,

my understanding is that all 4litre V8 and all v12 diffs are the same regardless of which body.

The rear cover from the e31 is different so you use the original from you own car
