This is the first car I've ever had with a "...tronic" gear shift (be it "Tip", "Step" or "Shift").
Once I got over the initial learning curve I began to realise how much fun it can be.
OK there's no clutch control, and yes, the electronics won't let me engage a gear which would over-rev the engine, but it does give me control of when I change gear and at what revs.
I've driven many different types of performance car over the years (worst was the Countach!), most with manual boxes.
I like the 8's auto system. Other's don't.
Neither is "better", but each is better suited to different owners.
