Just blown my rad...the top hose looked like it had come off but after closer inspection the plastic inlet mounting had also snapped off ?
So a whole new radiator is needed (£££)
Has anyone else had a similar problem ? Are these a weak link ?

The top hose neck leaking or breaking off is definitely a problem with the 840.
The top hose is just about too short for the application. Motor torque stretches it to its limits.
So check and replace your motor mounts if damaged or loose. They are oil filled so you should see some evidence of leakage. Cheap insurance against a repeat.
The after market radiators seem to work well with the V8.
