Took my car to have the tracking done, found that the threaded rod has seized in the arm. I thought about buying some new ones but looking on the internet I've gotten a bit confused Whats the difference between track rods, tie rods and link bars(i think)?

Why not splash the cash & renew all whilst at it,as if one component has seized you can bet on it the others are not far behind

I agree, but I'm not sure which bits I'm buying and what they do, any pointers for a dimwit

supplier
Hi
Finally got round to replacing track rods and servicing calipers.
Can anyone recommend a uk supplier for the track rods. Looked on internet to no avail so far.
Will phone the dealers as well to see how much they are. -
Try GSF (German, Swedish and French) Car parts. You should get both arms with all four balljoints for about £60 I think. When you get them, disassemble, smother the threads in grease and refit. I also replaced the pinch bolts and nuts with new stainless steel ones, on OEM arms but thats just me!
Then fit to car.
They won't seize again.8Tech.
