Ok, I have this problem. I am leaking some A/C cooland and I know it is somewhere on the frond behind the front bumper under the front light. That is what I was told. I it possible to be there?
Help regarding A/C

The AC drier unit is under the wing cover and the AC condenser is under the black cover in front of the radiator, in between the lights. The Condenser, which looks like a small radiator, is probably what is leaking.
-
What a wing cover? Do I have to take off the front bumper?
-
The parts you need to look at are No1 and No.7.
The Drier, No.1, is (I think) behind the wheel-arch plastic splash-cover, where the right front-wheel is, under the headlight assembly. The condenser, No.7 is under the plastic cover in between the two headlights, in front of the radiator. you DO NOT need to remove the bumper. -
Is it common that it fails?
-
You will need to investigate eaxctly what is leaking and where. It could be just an o-ring on the connection to the condenser... or it could be that it or the drier has corroded with a hole. Salt on the roads and winter use causes many problems.
-
It is not driven in the winter, but stays in a non heated but ventilated garage over the all winter.
-
A common failure. Most likely rusted and a pin hole has formed.
You are in luck. There's one on ebay incorrectly listed as a 7 series unit for £19.99 + postage. Ebay item number 260514167962 - no affeliation etc. I got one as a spare from this seller.
You will need 3 new o-rings. One for each A/C line and one for the pressure switch. -
So how many should I get? One more for spare?
Part numer of the orings?
What about the condenser?

Andre, if your car hasn't had much rain action it's more likely to be the condensor instead of the dryer. My dryer was rusted through but that took 150,000 miles of British roads. The condensor sits in front of the main radiator so is the first thing to get hit by road debris (if it misses the pentosin cooler which is much smaller) so most likely it's been holed. Take the plastic shroud off and have a look, it's probably obvious.
It's good practice to replace the dryer when you open the a/c system anyway as humidity gets in there and means the thing becomes useless. They are pretty much a consumable item anyway as there's only so much drying they can do. For £26 I'd get one.
The o-rings part #s are on realoem. They are pennies from BMW. You need at least 4, maybe 5 and I think there are multiple sizes required.
-
The price for the drier is 20 pounds but the price for shipping is 15, so maybe I should get 2 of them
-
Once your AC system is working properly, ther Drier should last 10 years or more.
-
Then I will probably just need 1. I am just getting afraid due to the fact that there are fever and fever parts for those cars

This part on ebay is not a BMW "original" part. I have noticed that there are now quite a few e31 replacement parts, including suspension parts, that are Delphi branded. Delphi, is an established brand, but I wouldn't stock up on this particular part with more than I need.
