No. my setup is special... I use the FTP "foglights/highbeams" as daytime running lights, but I would like to just use the small ones.
I know there is a 21w mod instead of the 5w stock ones, but white LED is even better.

To be precise, the original bulb has 2 brightness : 5W and 21W, with two pins at the bottom, one for each brightness.

On our cars, only the 5W is wired, but on "nordic" versions, the two are wired and the 21W is used for daytime runing lights.

There is a mod presented on this forum to add this function, with a 4 position switch used to select (None, DRL (21W), Normal (5W), Main lights). I don't know if it acts as actual standard : when you use turn signal, the DRL becomes dimmer while the turn light flashes, then it becomes bright again.

In fact, I use a LED bulb that has the 2 brightness : 5W equivalent and 21W equivalent. On the picture you see the 5W "dim light" so it matches the original tugsten bulb you see on the other side ! So my LED bulb is compatible with DRL !!!

My lights are currently hooked up like this:
-pos 0 = 5w and ftp on
-Park = 5w parking light
-low beams on

FTP lights work as flash to pass on the high beam stalk when in position park and low beams.

Had no plan to rebuild with a new switch, so I just thought about changing over so that I had the 21w part of the bulb used all the time.

I would LOVE a 21w LED-mod!

Pas facile à se rendre compte. A voir en vrai. Mais ça ne fait pas comme des petites lumières si tu vois ce que je veux dire comme sur les audi par exemple.
Stp tiens moi au jus dès que possible.

The FTP is a dual fillament lamp, just like the brakelighs on some cars.

you can either just solder the two parts of the bulb together, you will then have 21w all the time.
optional is to fit a new light switch with 4 possitions, where there is a seperate possition for the 21w function (may also require some extra wiring, you will find aa thread on this if you search.

21W +5W = 26W, - even brighter!

Has anybody heard from our French pal? I paid for some LEDs a couple of months ago but now complete 'radio silence'. I'm a little puzzled as I have not received them nor has any of my PMs been responded to.

I received mine on May 19th... took about 2 months from initial order.

Though he did not have these in stock himself so that may be the reason it takes so long.

i left him several messages and no answer.
I met 8ers in barcelona who know him and confirmed me he sometimes disappears and reappears as fast as he left. You shoud be confident. He might be away for the vacations and be back in september. I will let you know as soon as i have news.
