I'm not too fazed by this as I spend most of my working life cutting holes in granite worktops worth thousands so a tin bonnet worth £200 represents no problem
-
neat. practice on your's, then you can have ago at mine. m8
what guage of steel have you gone for?
I hope you are not going to attempt welding.
look much better if you had 2 in the bonnet. -
Hi Dave
You do realise this is all your fault i won't be welding, heard too many horror stories so thought I'd use a bit of Blue tack i'm using 3mm aluminum nice & stift but flexible enough to follow the bonnets curves

HI Steve; the pic of your bonnet indicates to me that you have attached 2 angle type brackets to the underside of the vents, this is also my intention, but in addition to them I intend to attach some flat bars to the front and rear, then bond the vent with sicaflex and fill the gap with filler. -

Great minds think alike:)

are you planning on adding the middle on like on the alpina?

I've decided not to go for the middle 'naca' duct;-)

Yes, Steve, we're going to need you to get any shoddy workmanship firmly out of your system, THEN do ours
-
Good man Steve, keep up the good work. We all watch with interest

What purpose may a NACA-duct serve on a non-Alpina car without the opening for the fuel rail? -

Its possible a well-trained domestic pet, for example a dog or cat, could ride shotgun there. A warm seat, with adequate ventilation (its well known dogs enjoy the sensation of their ears flapping in a strongish breeze whilst riding in cars.)
If it was an especially attractive creature it could function as a kind of figurehead, reminiscent of those found on ships or the bonnet of Rolls Royces.
And even if one's pet was considered too ugly for this type of role, this location could also be useful if your dog/ cat/ tortoise was muddy (perhaps after a spirited countryside walk) and one didn't want the seats spoiled. With the bonus that the animal would be quite dry once your destination is reached.
