I just got some 275/35/18 Michelins Pilot sports on the rear on a 11" rim.
Could I go with 235/40/18 on the front with a 9.5" rim?

That is stretching it slightly, but only by a few millimetres. Below is a table of minimum tyre widths for a given rim:

So 235 and 275 should be ok ?
I was going with 245 and 285 but on the smaller ones ai got a mega deal -
That might be stretching it a bit.
I run 245 on my front 9" wheel, and on my M3 I have 245 on a 8,5" front wheel. It will probably be ok, the sidewall will be stretched, but probably not as much as the rears.

Personally I like a bit of tyre to protect my wheel so I run 285 on a 10.5.
I would imagine a 295 would look sweet on that!!

I am going with the 245 on front then.275 on the rear will have to do for now.

IIRC the AC Type 1s are 17x9 and 17x10 inches. I run 255 front and 275 rear and have perfectly straight sidewalls. 285 rear is suppsed to be straight, but the Falkens are a bit wider than advertised - and 285/40/17s are nowhere to be found in Norway. I love it. For 9.5 and 11" i wouldn't go under 255 front and 285/295 rear.

Tyres have been bought.
