up to 150 hp bring it on.
I wouldn't have a clue if it would work..... but if its does
Yes they work
BUT meltdown is possible if it is installed wrong or if you live with the system on all the time.
Poor mans supercharger
I can endorse Terrys comment as i have personal exprience of "meltdown" but that's another story.
That is a very basic kit, you would certainly need a progresive controler/timer + a remap.
A proper installation is bundle of fun, but refilling the bottles can prove difficult
Sure it'll work, but whats the point in having it in short bursts!?... especially on a car like the 8. To get it set up properly its not going to be cheap either.
The nitrous systems are a drag racers toy. They were never intended for long runs.
They would get you to top end way quicker but you would have to turn it off and just hang there on the normal fuel system.
Nitrous use is a state of mind.
Turbo/Supercharger - both squeeze more air into cylinder, more O2 molecules to burn, so more fuel is injected and burnt to give more energy out. An intercooler makes the intake air more dense - so more O2 molecules are available, so even more power.
This is relatively easy to control, as it is a "normal" mixture compressed.
Nitrous injection - same principle as homemade bombs - the N20 is an oxidising agent - a rich source of Oxygen, so much more fuel can be burnt much more quickly giving a much faster (greater reactant density)and much larger (more reactant) energy release.
The mixture is critical, the reactant concentration is much much higher, so the chance of uncontrolled explosive combustion much much greater.
In both cases heat is a real problem as it is largely released in direct proportion to the kinetic energy output. More power out = more heat to get rid of.
My verdict:
Forced induction for your own car which you want to last into next week.
Nitrous if it's somebody else's car, or if you like to live fast and play Russian roulette with your engine.
thanks guys i get the drag, and will then leave it for the drag.........my next drag car that is,,,,,,,,,,,,,
